I just returned my Bose today. The noise cancelling is the best by far. However I felt the audio quality was missing some bass. They get VERY loud but they aren’t as full as the Sony. I bought the xm3’s and I love them. Also the audio lag on the nose when gaming and other things is awful. The fit on the Bose is slightly more comfortable. The case on the Bose is massive, the Sony is slightly smaller making it easy to fit in a pocket. The Bose app is a joke, and with no equalizer it’s a no for me. Overall I think the Sony is better for me. It’s up to you how important noise canceling and mic quality is. If you want audio quality the Sony is superior

As a truck driver for Pepsi I can say that the Sony m3's perform poorly over the loud engine and wind noise... the first gen Bose did excellent in sound and call quality. Can you list the songs played in you review

How can you say Sony's NC is superior over Bose when you can clearly hear more noise going through on the Sony's then on the Bose,, I also disagree with your sound quality test,, Bose wins that too, maybe if you tweak the Sony's EQ settings. Sony headphones are geared more for heavy bass music genre.

I own the Bose now. In the last I had the Sony. Problem with the Sony, they fall off. Call quality just okay. By far prefer Bose. No equalizer, but what for? Sounds is great. ANC is awesome. This guy is giving us his review and his preference. It doesn't have to be your preference. Cheers.

it is kind of strange from what i've seen of other reviewers saying the bose sound better and have better anc than the xm3 and airpod pros but this guy says the anc isn't as good they both are kind of bad on the call quality.

have both, bose has sweat res and better/secure fit therefore better to work out with. bose passive nc is better for me which makes their anc perceptibly better imo. sony does have the better sound stage imo

Hey buddy.. i disagree your base comments on the bose vs sony. Bose is way better in your sound quality tests and it's very evident from your video. Sony is playing the music in a high frequency note and bose is more life like sounds.

You're supposed to throw the Sony tips away and buy the Comply tips. The tips that come with the earbuds are usually garbage. Get the Comply tips for them. They fit your ear canal perfectly and will not fall out.

@@djdougd61 the Bose tips are fine, the Sony tips constantly fall out of the ears whether they are silicone or memory foam. If you buy the comply tips that match your Sony headphones , they stay in ear. The comply tips are better quality than the ones that come with the Sony headphones. They have better “memory” form and stay in place when you squeeze them and put them in your ears. Only problem is they can be uncomfortable and make your ears sore. Also, they have much better isolation. It totally makes a difference.

I have now tested the Bose and the Sony headphones in very noisy environments including airplanes, I must say, the Bose are considerably better with noise canceling than the Sony.

Just from listening to the video the Bose bested the Sony on call quality in noisy environment. And to be honest this is for my work phone an iphone 12 that they pay for so call quality is THE most important thing. I'm sure I would be more than satisfied with either in the music playback quality. I think ease of use and navigation would help but again those are secondary concerns.

I have been using the Sony XM3. The Adaptive Sound Control keeps switching to adjust as I move but it will delay music or phone conversation for 1-1,5 seconds when it switch. One question, did you experience the earbuds battery depletes faster (especially right earbuds) after updating to latest software?

Just updated my xm3s today and I noticed my battery depleted in 2 hours as opposed to the normal 4 hours that I've had using the DSEE HX feature and noise canceling simultaneously. I'm not sure if the update depleted the batteries but I had them fully charged at the time I started the update. I fully charged one of the ear pieces and in just one hour, my battery dropped to 50%.

Boss is the best in any way ! I have both products and nothing compares with Bose. I sleep with them in my ear, while listening music and I don’t have any pain in my ear. Where with Sony after 30 min wearing them I have ear pain. Bose all the way !

Agreed. XM3 are uncomfortable. I had to take them off for a few secs/minutes before put them back on to the next song. Lots of work to make them comfy on ears.

All I hear is tinny sound on the Sony’s with reverb (or their version of 360 sound) - Bose sound better IMO - don’t have any it’s just what I hear, any of our senses are subjective - it’s like saying tea is better than coffee, both are nice beverages but one is preferred over the other, but because I prefer coffee coffee is better, or purple is better than red. Ear buds are a compromise and will never beat good quality headphones, it’s a size thing.

One thing reviewers never mention is volume. The Bose go loud, and I mean real loud, much louder than the Sonys. I've owned both, Sonys first. Lost a bud running for a train, bought the Bose as a replacement. I disagree with the reviewers assessment of audio quality. Out of the box the bose are better than the Sonys, although you can tailor the eq to your taste in the app, something you can't do with the Bose. But they're set up so we'll you really don't need to mess about with the Bose, ive never found myself wanting more bass, if I do I just crank them up, they go a fair bit louder than the Sonys. Also the sound stage is wider on the Sonys, I don't know what this guy is on about saying the Sonys have a bigger stage as its simply not true, I can only assume that he hasn't got the right silicone tips for his ears as its the first thing I noticed on the bose it's that obvious. Noise cancellation bose wins hands down, it's not even close. Trust me I can be in the bath with the tap running and turn on noise cancellation and the nose filters it all out, and I mean silent, Sonys never did that. I wish the case was smaller in the bose, but it's not that much bigger than the Sony and the price, they're expensive. Is it worth the premium on top of the Sonys, I'm not sure, but if you can afford it, do it. Ive lived with both not bought them for a review. Both are very good and you won't be disappointed with either but the Bose are ever so slightly better. Oh, the Sony app is much better than Bose, and the Bose app disconnects all the time which is annoying but once you are over the novelty of playing with the app it doesn't matter, but if that's an issue for you get the Sonys My two cents

The sony needs to go deeper in the ear to have a good seal and sound quality. I have it, and first time I used them, it sounded tiny, no bass. But if I twisted them and adjusted them, I had a better fit and the sound was way better, more bass and the noise cancelling was perfect. Maybe he didn't put the sony's in the ear thingy recording properly
