The main muffler is under the bike; the secondary carbon fiber canister is a resonator to take off 4dB of sound so we can pass noise tests. The two smaller outlets on it actually reduce sound without removing power. Different than other solutions, but it works better. If noise doesn't matter, then we have the race slip-on that Geoff is using in AMA Superbike.

Okay people saying the EBR 1190RS to expensive for 40 grand here you go same category of limited production road legal sports bike Aprilia RSV 1000 NERA $40K usd MV Agusta F4CC $120,000 usd Ducati Desmosedici RR 72,000 and this one isn't really in it because only one built but AEM Carbon Fiber Hayabusa $160,000 usd, The EBR is actually a steal compared to the others in the same category.

Love these things, I am running an 1125CR with an EBR prepped ECM to match my FMF exhaust. and this thing puts me in the league with all the other super bikes around here, even with my big rear end, at 250lbs. What a dream to have a step up from the 1125 available coming.

everyone keeps making the mistake of referencing the 1190 as being a BUELL. its not! its an EBR! a name to grow to be much more popular i hope.

My god I wish I could afford something like that. I can't wait to see if something comes out in the "standard bike/streetfighter" configuration. My XB12Stt has served me so well, even on long trips. Just had my first ever problem, charging system failure. I'll keep this bike as long as I can procure or make parts for it. Still hankerin' for an upgrade thought ;) God created Erik Buell to make life better for the people of the Earth, I swear. Thanks EB!

@fragmonster I accidentally parked at a Harley Dealership the other day (it looked like a strip mall). Before I could say anything papers were signed and they had me test riding a 2008 1125R. Without a doubt one of the most fun bikes I've ever had the pleasure or riding!

They just included it in the Motorcyclist (?) magazine Class of 2012 test. All the liter bikes, japanese and euro. They ran them all at.....I think it was Barber. Anyway the Panigale posted the fastest lap and the 1190 was less than a second off. 2nd out of like, 10 isn't bad for a first year in production, and the Panigale's no slouch. Did I mention Ben Bostrum was the test rider? Mark my words, EBR will rule the world....

@Ryknfjor I think we will have to wait for the second gen bike from EBR. This is the first from the brand new company. I bet it is higher than needed to make up for lots of spent money on design and tooling. The replacement, or complimentary, bike will be much cheaper. For those that can afford this, it will be the fastest bike, faster than the $72,000 Desmosidici RR.

@Desmodromic916 not necessarily, for a racebike style engine, it allows the rings to seat better. Dynoing in a engine is one of the best ways to break it in

What a pretty looking bike. The HP numbers look great as well out of a twin. But my question is, why that ugly exhaust ? Is it your way of saying "go buy a aftermarket exhaust " cause an Akra or Termi will look sick on it and will probably make it the best looking bike out there. welcome back!

i know the 1190 race bike comes in a@ ~$45k usd, but maybe instead of carbon fiber- plastic, 100% ohlins suspension- showa or another knock off, forged rims-regular grade rims, top shelf engine components- in house cnc'ed parts. takes it down to still a pricey (but AWESCHOME) $22k right?
