Yes!! A new VR video! What a great subject, too. The Apollo was awesome- ahead of it's time, certainly ahead of tire technology. A big-ass Ducati cruiser/police bike is still a cool idea, and now that they have a V4, a modern day Apollo would be righteous. I was fortunate enough to be about 20 feet way from a DesmosedicI RR when the engine was started up. Holy sh*t. It was the loudest engine I've ever heard on a public road. It shook the ground. I'm a bit surprised that more motorcycle manufacturers haven't embraced the V4 configuration.

Aprilia has their V4, Honda are known for their V4s (though for a sportbike it would cost bit more than the CBR), Yamaha has the V-max since the 80s... It's a bit expensive but other manufacturers know how to build these engines

Great insight. One correction though. I have the 2019 V4 panigale. It revs to 14k (soft limiter) in the lower gears and in 5th and 6th to 15,500 and 16,000 respectively, leading to a gps proven 194.7 mph at a runway event. All the best. John

I don't know how to say it but I will just put it plain as toast with peanut butter and a quart of whole milk. You do your homework and then every time put out content that is not only with historical value but today's technology and facts in plain sight and common language for the average person who doesn't know about these things to understand, connect with , and enjoy watching while learning everything you need to know about the subject and then some on top of it. Thanks again for your hard work, due diligence, and fact filled information and tech explanation of today's machine along with the history of the generations before and the improvement made to them to get it where it is today. Good morning, God bless and I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Sunday today. From North of Pittsburgh, Pa USA. Enjoyable and facts as always, Thanks again.

The Husqvarna Nuda 900R has 13:1 compression ratio and 10kg or 100Nm linear torque. Too sad that it couldn't rev much higher to get some extra hp, but this monster torque even from the low revs is rewarding. I can't imagine any city bike that can be better than this.

@@alexstromberg7696 Oh, come on my friend! This bike is known for being a BMW one. It was one produced under the years that BMW had ownership of Husqvarna and they really tried to resurrect the brand. They produced 3 street bikes and these were the first Husqvarna street bikes since a long time ago. The Nuda especially was heavily modified from the F800, including heavy changes in the engine, and it sported some very very expensive components, like the top of the line for the period Brembo racing calipers and a Ohlins back shock.... I still can find spare parts for my Nuda from the BMW catalogue and they need very low maintenance....

I think 2 of these Ducati motors or put in one of those micro jet boats would be friggin hectic! 460hp V8 jetboat (obviously sound isn't going to be that of a V8 unless special headers are made? But very very compact motors and with the ability to share cooling system and other things would make for a crazy fun machine? Or just buy one bike?

So this engine is no longer a desmo engine?? Also the crank angles aren’t they the same as the Yamaha crossplane crank?
@VisioRacer
@VisioRacer Жыл бұрын
To be clear - the Panigale engine is a desmodromic valve layout, however, not the Multistrada and Diavel engine. The Yamaha cross-plane has a different timing and is more similar to the Aprilia V4 (not exactly, because that's a 65° V-4, but with a 90° V-4, it would be practically identical and hence the sound is very close). This Wikipedia article is very helpful with understanding the different firing orders of these and many other engines. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big-bang_firing_order

I have no Problem with Ductai Motor V4 But in World Super bikes , it the best Motor , if your running all the Extras On it to get that performance out Of it , but I am sick of Kawasaki inline 4 being Handicapped because Ductai Had not won for 10 Years , at last Ductai have got together , and won But for the last 6 Years Kawasaki Have been have Heavy Restrictions 6 Years ago , they were reving the Kawasaki to 15,500 Rpm , they killed The Ductai twins , and it really upset Ductai when the V4 with a 1500 Rpm Advantage still lost to Rea ( not his Fault the Ductai rider keeped falling Of ) so when Ductai Finally one , there Still a 800RPM Difference , of course Ductai Should win !!! And now they give a 250 Rpm back to Rea , ( after the dog Bolted 120 points in front ) next Year give the bikes same Rev Ranges And Kawasaki finger arms rockers, Let see Real Raceing , I loved to be a Championship Decided by a point Like 2010 and yes Aprilia beat my Beloved Kawasaki , I can handle that. Not this crap !!!!

Instead of buying a Ducati or Aprilia I think people should buy a Yamaha R1M and build it to their liking since Yamaha produces almost 90% of the sound of Ducati And Aprilia and sometimes Yamaha sounds even better with those pops and bangs . Reliability of Yamaha is way way better thn any European on American bike + the maintenance cost is also very low . Yamaha is best 1000cc bike ever made because of it's Crossplane engine its one of the most legendary non V engine bike ever made.
