Don't forget other classic elements like taking a year to publish what takes an hour in the plot so your audience forgets what's happening, starting a story arc that focuses on one holiday / season / date but then lasts well beyond the relevant event, and having multiple "ongoing" comics because they go onto indefinite hiatus when you decide to start a new project before the old one is complete.

Putting the only webcomics I find worthwhile at the top because no one clicks "read more" FlorkOfCows is worth a read if you're into comedy and each one is basically its own reaction image. Dreamkeepers is another really good webcomic with an interesting story and really cool artwork, characters, and has the right balance between story and action. But your enjoyment will probably depend on whether you like anthros or not. I don't read many webcomics. A few of my friends use this thing called WebToon and a lot of the things they've shown me is pretentious and generally pretty bad. I don't like Penny Arcade at all (that's the "video game reference" webcomic SB was specifically parodying) and I've seen too many sprite comics to count. Some of the more popular ones like TwoKinds I can't get into, and then you have Tumblr webcomics like Assigned Male which is literally the worst thing ever made.
