Lagarde says something that is sensible and interesting by mentioning the proximity. It is interesting that she says this because it is a decentralized social model that she is advocating here, which is in contrast to the EU, which is a central social model.

Lagarde is calling on European leaders to “accelerate capital market union,” and no different from people hoarding in times of uncertainty, the ECB is asking member nations to begin hoarding in the event of a future they do not wish to see. “There is a lot of saving in Europe and we have to make sure that those savings actually stay here to finance what needs to be financed, which is predominantly the climate transition, which is digitalization, which is enough re-industrialization…so in the key areas we could be self-sufficient.”

It's not looking pretty atm here.. taxes are high af. And inflation too. Everything has been way more expensive since covid hit. Our wages have been upped but not enough to pay for everything. Yet they tell us the percentage it went up is the same as all costs(food,gass,elec,..) to live. A big lie ! I'm from belgium, can't speak for the rest of the EU but i think it's pretty much the same..

Companies are generating so much cash, they don't know what to do with it. Unemployment is at historic low levels and with whomever you talk they want to work less (20 to 30 hours per week) to improve their work life balance.
