that's the best explanation i have seen regarding zener diodes and how to choose the right resistor. I copied the value of Mutable Instruments schematics, 820R for R1 and call it a day, didn't know that the test current was that high. but i only use them as reference, unless the reference is smaller than 1 Volt.
