If someone already holds a lisence and specialisation to practice in UK and India. What other possible benifits can he have from ecfmg certification? If he is not looking for US residency training. Will it help improve the CV? Or can it help with an US fellowship directly without an US residency? Actually I had my step one 5 years ago, oet for UK. Now it's only one more exam away frm ecfmg certification. Is it worth it?any utilities?

Hi there. Thank you for the question. You can start the ECFMG certification process by submitting Form 186. You have to wait 2 years to take your first USMLE exam. Certification means that you have already taken the USMLE exams, which means you cannot take them later. It sounds like your school situation is okay now.

Hi there. An ECFMG certificate is only required for the USA. You will need to use the ECFMG's EPIC portal for the UK and Australia for verification purposes only.

Hey my college name is there in wdoms but no sponsor notes are there.. So beginning 2024 if my college is nmc approved and nmc gets accredited will i be able to practise in USA despite not having sponsor notes

Hi there! Yes, if your school is accredited, you do not need your school to have a sponsor note!

So what should I do if my school is not accredited either by WDOMS or ECFMG

If your school is not eligible for ECFMG, that would be difficult to enter a program in the US. I am working on some suggestions for people, but there are not many options. If your school is okay for Canada, that is a possibility; it would be listed on WDOMS in the sponsor tab.

@@unendinglove1208 Yes, the schools listed on WDOMS are okay up until 2023. For the 2024 change, WDOMS eligibility will change. It should be an agency approved by the WFME only. There are reports that the NMC in India has applied to the WFME, but there is no confirmation yet.
