I just finished my install. It took about 2 hours. It was a little tricky getting the trigger bar to install in the trigger as the trigger pin was very tight. I ended up driving the pin back and forth until it moved more easily. Overall easier than other trigger upgrades. Very good quality.

Just finished my install. Took about 2 hours. 45 of those minutes were spent unable to move the trigger bar screw on the trigger shoe. I called PRP, Daniel picked up and talked me through using a vise for it and it was a breeze. Pretty awesome to get help immediately during the process. Big shout out to Daniel and PRP. I’m loving the trigger already and had no issues shooting 200 rounds right after. I used the entire PRP kit. Took over a pound off the trigger pull and the reset is just fine.

Happy to report that this kit works and feels great. I was a bit concerned after reading about reset issues in other comments, but I just went ahead and installed it anyway, dry fired it about a hundred times and shot nearly 300 live rounds without a single issue. Also the longer reset doesn't bother me. I'd recommend taking pictures of the original sear/safety assembly prior to taking everything apart because it's a bit of a pain to put back together and the video doesn't do the best job of showing it in detail.

Excellent easy to follow instructions. I installed the spring kit without the trigger shoe and not only did it reduce the factory pretravel, but it brought my stock trigger from 4.5 lbs to exactly 3.5lbs. I couldn’t be happier with the improved performance of my Echelon.
@unitedwestanddividedwefall35219 ай бұрын
Interesting, why did you skip the trigger shoe?
@myzuc63859 ай бұрын
I'll be using this as a defensive firearm and i wanted more pretravel than the replacement trigger shoe offers. If I were using it for competition, I would definitely change the trigger shoe and reduce pretravel even more. For me, it's perfect with just the spring change.

Installed the entire kit except the trigger return spring. Reset is indeed about one RCH longer, but not enough to fret about. Getting everything lined up ... sear, safety sear, lifter, disconnect, and those darned springs was a three cup/four cigarette job. Glad I did it. Climbing the wall is just so smooth and effortless and the break is clean. I winged the striker safety spring; directions don't cover it at all. All in all, about three hours and rough on the fingers. In the end, worth it.

Just yesterday I've installed the spring kit. Dunno about lbs, but in kilos - trigger dropped from 2.35 to 1.7 kg. Stock trigger on mine was very tough, even to the point i got problems shooting consistent 10 round groups at 25m. Now it works great. To change the spring set took me about an hour, watching video instructions few time. Sear set was tricky, but real struggle was to get a striker spring changed. My echelon got about 2,5 thousand rounds through it before, but it is very tightly fitted. But overall, PRP spring set gets the job done, today I've put 200 rounds to check if it works correctly, and it feels amazing, but still maintains that duty style. I highly recommend it.

You guys are amazing for already releasing a new trigger kit. My question is do your new springs effect the reliability of the echelon? Like possible light primer strikes etc? Thank you.
@stevenkendell113411 ай бұрын
Watch this video, carefully. Now take the COG apart and watch the reassembly part of the video, again. If you have a fair amount of mechanical aptitude it won't be too hard to install this kit, either with the trigger shoe, or the kit without the shoe. With just the springs I reduced my trigger pull by 1 lb. 4 oz. After I installed the trigger shoe I lost another pound of pull for a total loss of 2 ¼ lbs. Honestly the most difficult thing for me was getting the striker safety & spring reinstalled and then the striker locking plate back on the slide.

Springfield has one of the most complicated sear/safety set ups. My M&P was stupid simple. My xdm elite is just like the echelon. Very intimidating with all those small parts.
@stephenyeung63412 ай бұрын
I’m mechanically inclined and I watched the video, but I wish they had an exploded parts diagram and zoomed in more. The sear/safety was a pain in the butt. It would have been nicer if the parts nested together. Then again, that would probably lead to more friction.

Daniel did a good job on this video. I could not have been able to install the trigger without this video. Having said that, it could be improved by going a little slower with the spring nesting portion of the video. Also highlight the important points during the install such as keeping the springs separate and how the trigger spring may fall off during the reassembly. Maybe installing the trigger spring after installing the trigger bar. The video goes out of focus in several spots and it is hard to see the procedure clearly.

I almost passed out watching you take off so many tiny little parts and then putting them back together. I like my Original Factory Echelon trigger tactile reset and with the Powder River Precision Trigger Kit you loose the tactile reset. The tactile reset is more important to me than reducing the trigger pull by 2-3lbs.

If anyone has a problem with the reset and that trigger do not release the striker in one per 3-4 uses: I replaced before my lower to L size and it seems, it was adding additional pressure to the trigger assembly side plate, which was preventing this plate to pop up at reset point and stuck a little. When returned to original, stock lower, everything works perfectly. I will try later to grind down this plastic part of this L lower...

UPDATE - the slide stop lever spring fell out during disassembly. To anyone watching this, when removing the slide stop lever, ensure that you don’t lose lever spring. It’s a small spring and the video doesn’t mention that the spring can come off the lever. It’s a very small spring attached to the lever.

I installed this trigger and followed his instructions closely. And passes all functions check. The reset is noticeably longer and soft. But the travel is shorter and break is lighter and more crisp. Also the trigger has issues resseting properly after shooting live rounds and i cannot get it to fail a reset while dry firing the trigger. Any ideas from anyone on the issue? It may sometimes take 3 extra pulls to get the trigger to reset so it can fire again. While sometimes it will reset properly, but by and large it will fail multiple trigger pulls before a reset.

Yup...I'm having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!! Installed the PRP Trigger kit (new springs and trigger Shoe) and all function tests and dryfire testing appeared 100% good to go. Went out and shot a USPSA match last weekend without range testing with live ammo first (didn't have time before the match)...maybe 75% of my shots REQUIRED MULTIPLE TRIGGER PULLS to fire a shot!!! Fast forward to several days after the match and just got done doing a teardown and inspection on the pistol, the trigger module, and all trigger parts. Looks like the PRP trigger spring might be too light and not pulling the trigger bar back up into the proper position reliably in order to engage and activate the sear to release the firing pin on each trigger pull. Going to reinstall the original Springfield trigger spring to see if that fixes the problem. Have not had time to call PRP to discuss and with the holidays it will be a week or so before I can range test before my next match. The pistol was working just fine with all the original stock trigger parts. I had shot one USPSA match with it before making any mods and also did some range testing and training, probably shot about 300 rounds before any mods and everything functioned 100% with no problems. I've also modified and built triggers for many other platforms (Glocks, CZs, AR15s, AK47s, etc), so I have a pretty good working knowledge of triggers. While I appreciate the installation video PRP did...I thought they glossed or were too quick on many important points about how to reinstall the Echelon trigger with PRP parts and ensure proper assembly and function. While the internals of the Echelon are new to me, as mentioned above I do have a pretty extensive knowledge of how triggers work and how to disassemble, reassemble, and modify. I had to watch and rewatch the PRP video many, many, times in order to ensure I understood the inter-relationship of all the trigger parts in the Echelon and how to properly assemble. I've also read on many forums where users just gave up after attempting to do the trigger upgrade work themselves and went to a gunsmith to complete the installation...so doing this trigger work is not for the faint of heart!!!
