UBR, thank you. For me this was perfect level of detail. How so? I literally followed along while worked on mine. As for accuracy and precision of detail, extremely appreciated. Asymmetric parts need to be installed correctly - i.e. the half-moon extractor piece attached to the end of the extractor spring. And for the "tricks and tips" on dealing with the re-inserting the back plate? Perfect!!!

This has to be the best instruction video I have ever seen and I have seen a lot. It's too bad that you did not have "GO" and " NO GO" gages so you could show how to check the chamber. You should contact Springfield to see if you could sell this video to them.

great video, i just got this piece for Christmas, anyway was thinking of getting a Closed Emitter red dot the Holosun EPS is very nice but pricey how do you like the Cyelee Bear? i have been considering it but wasnt sure, my use is for the range, night stand, i might CC it im not sure, if i can find a IWB that i like that works for it.

Thanks man. I’m glad you liked the review. I have a review of the Cyelee Bear on my channel. I didn’t like it because the window was too small. Before I give you an optic suggestion let me ask you this. Does the optic have to be enclosed?

Do you know if the striker itself is MIM, cast or machined?

No, I don’t know how the striker was machined.

does this video detail the striker / internal safety VS the glock? is the glock still safe-ER?
@UBRArsenal9 ай бұрын
I heard Springfield went above and beyond to make sure this pistol would be safe. They wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any issues. So I would say it's just as safe as a Glock.
@dootieflack9 ай бұрын
@@UBRArsenal when cocked, is the echelon spring at 100% (can fire if magically all of the internal safeties broke)? or is it at 60-70% like Glock?
@Midwestfan7 ай бұрын
To me, it doesn’t look like it. It looks like the safety plunger is relying on the rear of the striker, where the sear catches. If the back of the striker fails completely, all safety mechanisms are negated. Hopefully it’s only partially cocked. I’m guessing it’s fully cocked though since everyone compliments the trigger. I was hoping the design would be like the hellcats/glocks.
@douglasmcnay644Ай бұрын
In a sense, the Glock is safer. Both have a striker safety plunger. Ideally, this would prevent the striker from hitting the primer on a round should other safety measures fail. HOWEVER...the reason the Glock is safer is because its striker safety plunger is located in front of the striker instead of at the rear, like the Echelon. Here's the reason why: if the striker were to break (though unlikely, is still possible) along the shaft of the striker and not just at the lug (where the striker touches the sear), the striker spring will propel the broker striker forward because it is pushing against the spring cups and the striker sleeve. Since the Glock's safety is in front of the striker, even if this catastrophic malfunction were to happen, the plunger would still stop movement forward. On the Echelon, if that shaft breaks, since the plunger is in the back, there is nothing preventing the broken section from flying forward and setting off the round. I'm honestly astonished at how many different manufacturers use the rear plunger design when it seems like such an obvious oversight. They are all probably banking on the striker never breaking in that manner, even though it is very possible.
