Echinopsis chiloensis var. borealis is a columnar cactus that reaches about 26ft tall and tends to enjoy more water than other cacti. It occurs at Elqui valley, Huanta, Coquimbo, Chile. Slow growing but may pick up speed in an oversized wide, shallow pot for root expansion. Likes to have lime in substrate, be it annual addition of dolomitic lime and bone meal or all-purpose crushed limestone gravel 1/8″-1/4″, heavily rinsed clean and added to your cactus soil mix. These seed-grown plants are roughly 3″ tall.
