I'm catching up on your videos. Youre very correct about a harness being very comfortable to wait hours in for an animal. The 2.0 would be a lot more than a hunter would want to spend , or haul in. I was fortunate enough to get a New Tribe Revolution before they closed their shop. Its definitely better than any of the others I've tried. I considered hunting out of my Onyx until I got the Revolution. If I can ever wear out the Onyx , I will be trying a Monkey Beaver 5.0. Just modded a friends new2 2511t - had a spare clutch for him, but had to use Stihl bar and 1/4 pitch green chain (he ground back the guard plates, but it's still not the same). No one should underestimate the value of an extremely lightweight saw. I need to get my Speedcut Nano chain on mine, which should help quite a bit. I'll have to see if Makita has their nano sprocket available now. Nice to have the same bar/chain on my saws.
@mattfleming863 ай бұрын
I put the 14" nano on mine. Not significantly faster than the 3/8lp but it is faster, and much smoother. The .325 nano sprocket is larger so it gets the chain speed up. It's a touch front heavy now but still very pleasant to run. The extra 2" of reach is worth it. I wish tsumura would make .043 lightweight skinny bars it would be like a dang scalpel.
@boomupengineering3 ай бұрын
@@mattfleming86 Yeah, I'll be happy to have a chain that isn't so grabby! I don't have any mods except for an Egan pipe. Should cut well enough for me but I do eventually want to get an engine assembly so I can play around with porting and then I little timing. A Tsumura bar would be nice - have their lightweights on all my Dolmars, including the 7900.
@mattfleming863 ай бұрын
@@boomupengineering I'm at a simple muffler mod (mild in case i want to put it back on later) and a timing advance. Going to order the pipe soon. I didn't want to get too crazy until it was well broken in anyways. Echoes tend to "mod themselves" for the first 10-20 tanks (🤣) I do like the nano but don't expect it to cut BIG wood much faster. I think most of the gains come in smaller limbs from the sprocket as the kerf is not that much narrower than 3/8. But definitely handy when you need something small to drop cut flatter. I may get a quarter pitch b&c with a stihl or other high quality bar just to play around.
