The 7310’s take about 10 tanks to break in..but the squish is normally about 0.070” so decking, lower transfer work and either raising the middle transfer up to the one beside it is a good start. If you pull the transfer caps, heat them so you don’t have issues with the locktite..and make sure you use a good adhesive sealer when you Re-install them, they may leak otherwise..I pressure and vacuum test always, and you will want to also😉. Charles Brisco builds some amazing 7310’s …mine will cut neck and neck with the stock 661 mtronic (91cc Stihl). Muffler mods are a given. Carb screws are very delicate and easy to break when messing with the limiters, so it’s easier to just cut the plastic tab and leave them in. I replaced one I broke with a 371xp jet screw and it seemed the same. There is some room to open up the air flow at the filter holder by removing the plastic web, but you may want to leave it. Once they are done up, it’s my go to saw, I’ve run a ton of saws and it is the most comfortable and crazy reliable, great air filtration and a ton of power. Good luck! I did a 680 for my nephew and it really rips now. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZetgIeZl8mehKc

Love my ported 7310. On the other hand the carb screws suck I broke one of the ears on the high speed jet trying to remove the limiters had to order another. I had good luck raising the 2 secondary uppers the same height as the primary and fire at the same time. Mine had a squish of like .070 so I machined 25 out of the band and a bunch of the base and no gasket. Exhaust at 102. Good luck!

Yea I've heard the 7310 is a little bit of a let down until it's woken up and then it's a beast. My 2511 was a little bit of a disappointment until a few mods were made and then it became, not so little anymore! Thanks for the videos Richard!

Every new echo saw, trimmer or blower I've had my hands on the last few years has been very fat out of the box. But I'm also at 3600ft elevation. The red armor continues to prove itself a good choice! Whenever your schedule allows, excited to see if aspen 2 leaves any better film than hp ultra or motomix!😊

Think I've read that echo sets their equipment to operate best under 1000ft. I'd imagine husky and stihl do similarly.

You can use a regular carb screwdriver to adjust the d shaped carb screws it just goes in the middle and and is little more tricky but it can be done. That's how I tuned mine.

I love my Echo’s saws but they suck stock but understand the non-stratocharged so they have to detune and clog up to meet emissions. So sad 😭 they took out the mag split case 4910 & replaced it with 4920 clamshell stratocharge!

My 7910 also 4-stroked badly on first few tanks with 30" bar in big red oak. It got a "little better" after that task of about 3 gallons of fuel. Then I set the H needle in as far as the limiter would allow (not much). It is a "D" or half sliced off round, but there is a slot across the D. I used a small flat blade to adjust. I then cut down and cut up a big ash and it was "closer" to right, but could stlll use a little more air. It is not a high rev saw and may never be. I like the Red Armour too.
@richardflagg3084 Жыл бұрын
If I could have tuned it onsite, I think it would have done much better.
@Kevin.L_ Жыл бұрын
I kept mine rich during break in and it was kind of dog until it got warmed up. 4 stroked half way through the first cut everytime . It got better after I leaned it out a little. After a few gallons through it, it started acting right. Now it's run in and tuned and behaves great. I'm at 3000 feet.

I have a 680 that I bought 3 years ago. Stock it would not even run good enough to cut with where I cut firewood, 9000 ft elevation, I ported it, no machine work, and opened up the muffler, and now that's my goto saw. Pulls a 28 inch bar no problem. Only ever run red armor in it.

It's got a killer shelf life. It's also purer than most anything available. Getting it cheap just sweetens the deal.

Echo really likes to send their saws out way too rich and it's often hard to lean them out enough stock. They have such a good warranty I hate to remove the limiter caps off mine but they usually need to be leaned out. They improve a little bit with a few tanks through them but I never feel like they're tuned quite right

At $800 they were a good deal, enough left to get it ported. At $1050 you're better off getting a 462.
@zack6892 Жыл бұрын
I do agree a lower price point would sell way better but man I've got to say I think it is still worth the 1k. Sure is a little down on power but everything else about it is perfect for work saw right out the box. No leaky filtration, among best fuel economy in modern saws, great bottom end torque and very broad power band. It will do everything a 70cc should just don't scream like a stihl or husky I don't really feel it is THAT far behind. It all comes down to preference I guess but if the 7310 feels better i would say take it over the 462. I love mine I did get it early at lower price though and have it ported but if it ever pops I'll buy another one for sure love this saw. To me it feels like the middle ground between a 272 and 372 but fully upgraded and that is like my ideal saw plus parts are so cheap and easy to get. I really can't believe they aren't more popular to be honest stock vs stock it smokes my 272 and once ported will run past a 390. Oils better then any new saws in the 70cc or lower class I've run also reminds me of old school saws. Only way it could be better is if they added heated grip.

The 7310s are awesome when you remove the limiters and muffler mod them. I took mine a step further and a buddy ported it still has the stock squish however it out runs my 461 and is pretty close to my buddies 500i. It's my go to saw now about a gallon a day through it
@oldcodger1929 Жыл бұрын
Those 7310s are as big a turd stock as the 400 stihls are. They need porting to make them run which is ridiculous for what they both cost.

@@alanmeyers3957 I think that for 67cc they are seriously lacking in torque. They're good for limbing and smaller wood but they fall on their face if they need to pull chain in bigger wood.
