I purchased a new Echo cs-800p chainsaw with a 36" bar and had to test it out cutting down a 3 foot diameter oak tree that blocks the wind from my wind turbine.

Heard alot of muffled speaking when he was talking and running the saw and then when he was talking with the face shield down. Other than that was an ok video. Would like to see how put the wind turbine up.

As a professional arborist I always load the bar in an upward position while adjusting the chain tension. As you work this is the way the bar will migrate. Set is flat, pull up on the top side of the chain at about 3/4 of bar length and then tighten the bolts. This will give you a more stable adjustment. I've done this hundreds of times. I've seen others adjust chains and minutes later find it is not right.

Been doing my chain removal, making chains, and installs , with saw on its side for 30 yrs. Way faster usually. Spinning the cover nuts down is faster and easier, no table/ tailgate in the way. I even tighten/ adjust the chain on it's side. Never had a problem. Except my big Echo 8000, the only one in my fleet, with the "hidden" adjuster, easier with the saw bottom down.

A good set of felling spikes or dogs definitely help with setting up your hinges strait. Bore cuts are used for mostly heavy leaners too avoid barber chairs. Just keep it in mind most people are killed by the tree not the saw, the tree and it's felling should be your area of study.

That saw is not made for a new guy. I currently have 8 saws and when I get a brand new saw, I will break it in by using it for about 2-3 minutes, then I switch to another one of my trusty saws while the new saw cools down. I repeat this procedure several times to properly break it in. Also, in the first 3-4 tanks of fuel, I will run 40 to 1 oil ratio then switch to 50 to 1 to properly seat the rings and boost compression. I hate to see a nice piece of equipment run hard right out of the box.

Great video! Looks like you got lucky with that 800p. I bought a 800p a couple months ago and it ran a few tanks then the throttle begun to stick making it very unsafe and ALOT of particles were pulling through into the carb. Brought it in to service shop and echo has been nothing but a nightmare to deal with for me. I really like your channel and can’t wait to see more of your videos!

Why plunge cut for the back cut? Could have just cut in from the back, save that nose on the bar.Plus, if you make your notch deeper, you will get closer to the center of gravity. It will also make the back cut easier.

As someone who professionally cuts trees for a living I can say you don't know what you're doing. First off, you're using a saw way too big to cut the tree already on the ground, but if that's your only saw I guess you have to use it. Why are you rocking the saw back and forth though? Let the saw work. It's not a steak knife. Why did you bore cut when you didn't need to? That's incredibly dangerous with big saws if you don't know what you're doing and clearly you don't. You'll know what I'm talking about the first time it kicks back on you.

@@Jv19979 il have to add to this, iv had 388&660 and 090, they are awsome monsters but as most/all chainsaws high maintenance I'm ok with that, my husqy 41 has been a damn problem since day 1 in 1996 but it's mine so I keep piddling with it and I love how agile it is when it runs(and oils at the same time, lol) my husqy 372 has been my favorite for a long long time still yet a bit high maintenance then there is echo..in the past year I have gotten a 2511 and 590 timberwolf and I absolutely love them I so far have done nothing but pull the rope in various climate changes we will see how they make it 20-30 years from now like the others but for the price I am truly impressed with echo products and would not hesitate to buy another what so ever time will tell if that changes but I feel optimistic 😊
