Hi, I am in New York and interested in doing this in my home. Do I have it right that I’m can be used with already existing baseboard, if so that would be great.
@ericmaskell32782 күн бұрын
Yes you can as long as you have enough baseboards. Most house have more then needed. You could add some if you don’t have enough. The reason is the geothermal unit doesn’t make the water as hot as a boiler so you get less btu’s per foot.

Does the solar power all the tracker functions?
@ericmaskell32784 ай бұрын
It is powered by 240volt AC so it isn’t powered directly from the solar but is after the inverter converts the DC power from solar panels to AC 240 volt.
@3cl14 ай бұрын
Off topic, but can you recommend ground level solar panels for Stinnett TX location? Great channel.
@ericmaskell32784 ай бұрын
You can use any panels you want. It depends on what your ground mount rack can take. Does it take 60 cell panels or 72 cell panels? I would use bi-facial panels if you can to get more power per square foot.

Did you design the tower yourselves? I've been thinking to adding 15 feet to an existing 33 foot tower. Do you think it would have issues?

In the video, it troubled me to see the track hoe help align the mount to the pole and moves the pole in the process. Wouldn't that allow the whole solar array to possibly be unstable in the future by enlarging the hole? It kind of ruins the stability of the pole and makes the whole thing less stable when completed. I'm also curious why you use 60 and 70 watt modules instead of 140 that have higher numbers of power, isn't that the idea of generating power at the most reasonable cost?
@ericmaskell32787 ай бұрын
The pole moved because it was not tightened down yet. It gets torqued down. The hole doesn’t get enlarged it is 1/2” thick steel. There are 48 panels that are 295 watts each. For a total system output of 14,160 watts. Also the utility regulations I can’t put in more solar then 110% of the customers yearly usage. I hope this help.
@paulhammond74898 ай бұрын
Nice video Eric... The assembly jig on on the saw horses looks like a huge time and back saver. I wondered if the tracker mount would rotate (head over heels) to be able to install the other half of the panels a little easier, I was not disappointed :)
@ericmaskell32788 ай бұрын
Yes it is a big time and back saver. I know it’s hard to see in video but I don’t move the array over the top to put the top of the panels on. I use a chain fall to control it because it does weigh a lot. Glad you enjoyed.
@paulhammond74898 ай бұрын
@@ericmaskell3278 Thanks for the clarification :) Sorry to hear the planning permission took so long, hope that becomes less of an issue as solar becomes more popular for off grid housing.

Thanks for taking the time to edit and upload your content. Net-Zero homes or buildings is a very interesting subject matter and I'm sure we'll see it being adopted more frequently in due time. I look forward to your future content, especially if you have any that planned that looks back at an earlier installation to see how ground loops, well loops or pond loops are performing in comparison with the expectations when they were designed / installed. Yes. And you will get black smoke out the exhaust. Sometimes you can even hear a flutter noise in the engine. And once the EGR opens up too much, the pitch of the engine changes, like a hollow noise. This is more noticeable on the 2003 - 2006
@ericmaskell32788 ай бұрын
I don’t get black smoke because of the dpf
@frontlinemedia42708 ай бұрын
@@ericmaskell3278 I don't know a lot about dpf, but that is unrelated. Egr opening creates a rich mixture that doesn't burn completely, thus blk smoke. I also discovered the egr affects shifting in the transmission. I bad egr not opening right will make the vehicle stay in a gear. On a different subject: I have a crank sensor error. I am unable to get a ground in either of the two wires that it connects to. I am assuming one wire should be ground, no? Do you know the pins in the ecu that the wires correspond to? Fill me in, I have no idea why this is happening now. I fix one thing and get 3 more. This vehicle is a lot of work

Wiggle if forward and back while lifting with a flat head from underneath. I thought I couldn’t get it out either but with this guys technique it worked. Wish I remembered the link I would give him a shout out.
