Echo HC 150 Carburetor Replacement

News flash I had bought a new carburetor for a Echo PB250 LN BLOWER - well the coil went bad which would cost the customer $75.00 - didn't get fixed with that price . So I got this HC-150 Echo hedge trimmer in from the same customer that the PB250 Carburetor interchange with and all went well -all I had to do was switch the throttle linkage mechanism. Now it's the same customer that had the Echo blower ,now he gets to enjoy some. Of his old-new parts off his blower on his hedge trimmer. End of a good story ..... My HC 150 is 16 years old, and I just replaced the carburetor. I started using the premixed ethanol free fuel about 3 years ago. Ethanol will literally kill your power tool, I have a feeling my small engines will last much longer from using Trufuel. The fuel tank grommet is a real pain, years ago I had one disintegrate on me and soaked my leg with fuel. I think the aftermarket grommets are harder material, and more difficult to push into place. I pulled out 2 lines and finally got it in, after using a drop of dish soap. I suppose the 2 gaskets can go in either direction, I lost track how one of them went. But I started my HC 150 right up, runs brand new. Thanks.

Thank you. You edited out problems we're going to run into - like getting the fuel grommet back into the gas tank, putting the throttle cable back, and finding & adjusting the idle screws. Because of video length?

Hello! I have a question. I have a HC 150 but my carburetor doesn’t look like that. I ordered a replacement carb for it and the replacement looks like yours. But the one I pulled off doesn’t. Would you mind taking a look at it

Was your throttle cable a bit too short? I just tried installing mine and it needs to be a quarter inch longer. I hope i can figure it out, I think it has something to do with that brass fitting.

Turn the brass throttle link on the carb 180° . the cable actually goes up inside the throttle body linkage. If you have it wrong it will high idle because the throttle wont close.
