There are dozens of good tachs out there, i am just partial to the DTI TT20K because it was the one i was taught with by my mentor years ago. Plus Walt (Afleetcommand) uses it so that's the best recommendation i can see!!

China actually makes some quality stuff. But we never think about the country of manufacturer on the good stuff. For one, the iPhone and other Apple products are fully manufactured in china. And no one associates the iPhone with the adjectives Cheap, Chinese, or Crap.

@@killer2600 Foreign Companies, like Apple, manufacture their products in China. Makita(Japanese) makes some of their tools in China. There are some nice things made in China, when there is quality control and oversight. There is a LOT of crap from there as well.

Just rescued an Echo HC-160A from the local scrap yard, dry compression is 50psi, wet is 175! Is it worth fixing? Was thinking of just dropping in a new piston ring and hoping for the best.

Is the piston or cylinder scored? Always pull the muffler and check

@@ek8710 possible if run at low throttle and was carboned up. Carbon will get in the ring land and stick a ring.

Thank you for another amazing video! I asked yesterday about specs for a Husquvarna 125BV so I can use my new tach to set everything. I googles the model number but still cannot find and specs any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all you do for us newbies relly appreiate you.

Idle on a 125 BV is 2800-3200. Max speed blowing is 8600, max speed vacuuming is 7500. Go to Manualslib.com and search for “Husqvarna 125B Operator’s manual”. The specs are on page 21

I have a Stihl FS38 trimmer. I runs erratically no matter how I adjust the carb. One minute it’s screaming, then it’s lopping. The muffler was totally plugged. Could the main seals now be leaking? I know how to change them. I don’t have a vacuum/ pressure tester to check it. Bruce sent me over. Thanks, Jim

Hold it while idling then rotate it 90 degrees for 4 seconds, then another, then another. A seal leak would change rpms wen the unit was rotated. Make sure the equipment is warmed up too. Chinese carbs are cheap why not try one on it? Is the fuel line and filter good? What about the vent?
