I just bought one for my company. Good to hear you have that many because it must be a good product. This video is very helpful.

I replaced my blades. I’ve never done it before this attempt. I should have taken pictures, but didn’t. Now, I’m stumbling with assembly. My problem is remembering if the blade bar’s end hole sits on top of the gear shaft. I would love having a picture or drawing of the HC-2020’s assembly of the blades, handle and bar especially at the gear housing and bevel screw area. Those machine/beveled screws are lousy and break easy at the head. I assembled the unit and replaced the blades, but the blades are frozen. I released all the blade screws, but noticed the gear housing is hot. Please advise me should the bar’s last hole mount on the shaft of the gear housing? Thank you. I really enjoy your videos.

Thanks for the video...I was wondering how tight the bolts that hold the blades together needed to be. I removed the guards and clearly I have them too tight

What you should do it tighten them as much as you can and then back it up so that the nut and the bolt can rotate freely. If you can't spin them with your fingers then they are to tight.

Hey great video! Do know of a good carb replacement?

Wondered about how to adjust high rpm operation. I have an HC-151 and only see an idle screw. When I give it gas it bogs down and stalls. Just put a brand new carb, plug, and filters on it. Thanks.

The HC-150 has an ENGINE, not a motor. Motors use electricity for power. Engines use fossil fuels for power. Regarding the blade bolts: how "loose" is "too loose?" How "tight" is "too tight?"

I just greased my hc-150 gearbox & sharpened my blades, my trimmer now vibrates a lot when ran & not sure if it has something to do with how I put back gears ? Any advice would be much appreciated. THANK YOU

My first thought is that you don't have both screws that are on the handle tightened. My second thought would be to take the bottom cover off and make sure everything is in properly. The cover needs to sit flush with the case. If it is not then the gears are not sitting properly in the case.

Bear's Workshop will check everything you mentioned. Do you know how tight the 5 blade bolts should be? As i noticed if their to tight then the blades will not move
@BearsWorkshop

Correct. To tight and they won't move. After you get them tight then back off the bottoms 1/4 to half a turn. They should move just a wee bit but not rattle.

Bear's Workshop ok I will do that. Do you have any experience with placing the 2 gears back in the case ? When I placed them back in I noticed a dot engraved on both gears so I lined them up with smaller gears it connects to I’m thinking the dots their to let you know that’s the set point or something 🤷‍♂️

My experience is that they will only go in one way. The dots may line up where the blades may need to be in the ideal position but I have never had to line them up. I have found that if they aren't lined up where they fit in flush then they won't go in.

Why do you say it's 'a motor, not an engine?'

Looks like a graveyard of Echo products. Not a good sign.

Yes definitely a graveyard. I've got piles of Stihl and Honda equipment also. When you use these tools as much as we do this is normal. The parts that we take off of them keep the other tools running a lot longer.
