No need to take your trimmer apart. just make sure your blades are off set from each other and use your grinding tool. This is something I have to do every week for the landscaping company i work for.

If it does not have a tiny burr it is not sharp. You do need a tiny burr.

good video, but i cringed when you were using the grinder to take the burs off the back of the blade, its really easy to accidentally round off the back edges . I would crossfile or use a honing stone to take the burs off to keep the surface flat. More control this way.

No bevel on the bottom of the blade. A flat stone is best if you want to remove the burr. If you put a bevel on the bottom of each blade you will start trapping stuff between the blades when they get dull making things even worse.

I have that trimmer, pain in the ass to start, even with new plug, fresh 89 oct gas with 50:1 Lucas oil and clean air filter. Once running its great, has very nice blades.

Make sure the choke is closing all the way. After 8 pulls see if spark plug is wet if not there is a fuel problem.

all echo products are hard to start man. That's why I am slowly getting rid of my echo crap and replacing it with Stihl

Bill T My Echo blower starts on the first pull most of the time. The weedwacker, 3-4 most of the time. My dads 24 year old SRM 2510 is 1-2 pulls most every time. No, not all Echo products are hard to start. Even the PB251 POS I got for free that now has a piece of nail for a flywheel key starts on the first pull lol.

I have a Black & Decker HedgeHog. the blades are not like any I've seen on KZbin videos. They are not straight, flat blades like in the videos. One blade has a double curve on it, so do I use a round file to sharpen it? The other thing is how to remove the blades. Any thoughts where I might see how to do both? Thanks

I just greased my hc-150 gearbox & sharpened my blades, my trimmer now vibrates a lot when ran & not sure if it has something to do with how I put back gears ? Any advice would be much appreciated. THANK YOU

I really wouldn't grind the burr off, especially if you are not a pro with the grinder. Use a stone or hand diamond file (fine).

0mg people this is not a method that should be used to sharpen blades on any hedge trimmer .. wow ... i own a lawn company been sharpening my own blades for 20 years.. i use a air dremel with a small wheel/disk .. no need to dis assemble the trimmers ... just sharpen the blades one side at a time .

Took mine in to a pro who sharpened it right on on the trimmer. $25 No need to take it all apart

If you use the grinder you will void the warranty. The blades are not going to ve sharp anymore.
