Most tragic backstories: 1. Echo/Ash kom Azgeda Mother is burned alive by Azgeda army. Raised as a living weapon. Forced to kill her best friend and then renamed after said friend. 2. Octavia Blake kom Skaikru Locked in a single apartment for 16 years with only her mother and brother for company. Then forced to hide beneath the floor to avoid discovery. 3. John Murphy kom Skaikru Father is killed for stealing medicine to save his son. Mother drinks herself to death with her last words to him being "You killed your father." 4. Josephine Lightbourne of the Primes Love interest commits suicide in front of her, blaming her for his death. Then murdered by her father during a Red Sun Eclipse. 5. Bellamy Blake kom Skaikru Wants his sister to experience what she's dreamed of her entire life. He lets her out of the room during a masquerade ball where she gets arrested. Is directly responsible for his mother's death and his sister being imprisoned.

Clarke Griffin kom Skaikru Lost her father, was put in a jail cell for knowing that the ark will run out of oxygen, killed 320 innocent people to save hers, killed Finn so he wouldn’t have a very slow and painfully dead, left Arkadia for a few months and still had to save them, got the love of her life (Lexa) killed infront of her face and arms, was blamed many times for deaths she had to do to make sure her friends stay alive, lost her mother (twice I think..) and probably more. Moral of the story Clarke just can’t get a break at any season.

Echo or rather, Ash, has always been the most interesting character of the series, in my eyes. Even before her back story was introduced, before she was in a relationship with Bellamy, and she was just the Azgeda spy, a dangerous woman whose next move you couldn't anticipate. However, when those things happened, I loved her even more and she didn't end up with Bellamy, no one, she ended up happy which was all I've wanted since we first saw her in that cage.

@@MSNskills Clarke and Bellamy are literally married in the books, and the show is made from the books so.. Plus, Bob(Bellamy) said that Jason had them play their characters romantically, so it would be very much appreciated if they ended up together. Also, I kinda loved Echo and Hope

This captures her life really well. She didn’t want to be pitied for the traumas she went through so she always appeared tough (except to Bellamy when she was in loved with him) but deep inside what a tragic story but what a marvelous character. I love Echo
