I have that same exact model and it works perfectly. I've had it for probably close to 20 years and it was used when I got it. I've not had to do anything to it but put gas in it. It's great.

got 3 of these, my grandpa has 2. one seized, and one lost spark (needs new coil). I got one and it still runs like new, I believe it’s a 2001 which is the last year they made this model, what a shame.

I've never had one of these apart, but looking at the diagram it seems to be a two-part ignition.

I'm still wondering how the opposed twin from vertical to horizontal build went.

Well, since then I moved to a different state, which was a process. Then rented a place for about a year before finally moving to our house just a few weeks ago. I still have all of the parts and intend to finish the 46 cu. horizontal build. The garage isn't built, so not quite ready to wrench again.

my first thought is it,s from the year 1984 which is also the year of Gremlins (1984) and The Neverending Story (1984) and well many others but yeah it,s a good unit plus plenty of power in it,s day etc.
