We're in the future now, and considering the name on it, it's probably still in use somewhere. I hope it's been upgraded to a SpeedFeed so eliminate at least a minute worth of down time... also knowing by the name on it, it probably doesn't like a hot start!

seems like a great trimmer....i hadn't had any experience with Echo products until i found an Echo chainsaw in some of my father's things he had collected....it turned out to be an excellent saw

I have had that same model since April or May of 2008... I use to have my own little lawn business on the side. I have ran the shaft over with my truck, straightened it back out and still running good. The only thing I had to change was the primer bulb because it cracked. The original spark plug is still in it!!! However, now that my son is using it, we will see how much longer it lasts. Oh and I have worn the bottom bump plate off as well.

I've had my echo gt2000 curved shaft since 08 when i graduated high school and i was using it basically residential for all them years. just started my own lawn company this year. replaced the primer bulb, the trimmer string blade on the guard, and just put a new e3 spark plug in it since i hadn't replaced it in couple years. man its running just as good as ever.i like to run full synthetic oil blend 50:1 and am very particular with my equipment because i am a small engine technician. this thing has been an awesome trimmer and made me a lot of money. i will always stick with echo because of this 👌

I strongly recommend getting the better trimmer line head where it uses 2 pieces of line instead of wound up line. Guarantee it will save you hours of headaches.

Echo Speed Feed 400?
@miners_treasures4 жыл бұрын
@@benrobles752 No. Something like the Rapid-Loader Head or Heavy-Duty Fixed Line Head. Make sure you get the one that fits your model. You put it on and while the engine is running, you can put the engine side down, pull out old pieces of line and put in 2 new pieces. I am going with the metal head next just so it doesn't wear out near as quickly. Check with your local small engine repair shop.

I have a trimmer that looks very similar to this one but has a 23.8cc engine. It now runs great after replacing the fuel lines and a quick cleaning. I was wondering if anyone knows the model number of that I am probably using and what it might be worth? I do know that either way I got a good deal since I am only at about 5 american dollars so far as far as my total cost now minus the trimmer line which I still need to replace with the proper type instead of just using metal fishing line like I am currently.

After 16 years of residential heavy use I believe mine has just sputtered out. 😔

I have had mine for about the same amount of time. I have done ZERO maintenance to this unit. I have never changed the plug, filter or drained it to store it..always started right up. This year I am having trouble getting to full RPM's. I just changed the filter and the plug. I probably have to clean the carberator...not matter what happens I got my money's worth and then some..and will only buy an Echo again.

@@kevinshea5819well I hung my old up in the garage and went to The Home Depot to buy another one. I had that old Echo since I was 22 years old it lasted until I was 38. I say money well spent..

i replaced the the carb, fuel lines and grommet. fires up but acts like out of gas when i hold it at an angel to use it, or if i turn to either side? then quits. new fuel filter also. any ideas?
@brandonsummers9575 жыл бұрын
There should be a one way vent beside the carb. Bet its clogged. That allows you to tip the trimmer in any direction and not catch air in the system
@donaldbutler87385 жыл бұрын
thank you, i had replaced the vent also! have it in the shop now.

Hey Indy long time no see , with all due respect you should try a redmax or a tanaka trimmer i still like echos and still use them everyday , at work. but redmax and tanaka separate the boys from the men. enough said. these are great running reliable machines for those who do not run them 24/7 this looks like a 21.2 cc model ?
@todderle64762 жыл бұрын
Tanaka is very good, about the only true equivalent to echo products. Redmax is really only a step-up brand of Husqvarna and never seemed to run properly out of the box, without a little bit of adjustments. The brand new redmax I ran I had to hold upside down on my shoulder to keep an idle, walking from tree to tree. This is the 21.2 and they still use it today in the srm 225s
