While I still hate this mission at least I learned something from this video that will at least potentially make this a little bit more bearable. Always thought you had to uncover at least 2 or 3 symbols to avoid choosing the wrong drone.

My issues with the new Invasion Dungeons are that all of these mechanics are what they said they wanted to get rid of in the HM dungeons.... stand around and shoot stuff, but now with more chaos. Stand around and shoot a totem for part of a code, then stand around and wait for an explosion. Stand around and look at colors and memorize them. Stand on the color of the boss shield and shoot it till it goes away. The gun you get should have enough ammo to kill all the eyes on the door, the skill should be properly charging the gun to get max damage to 1 cycle, not a forced 2 cycle. Timing feels a little tight for gold. If you get perfect RNG it'll take you like 2 weeks to get Hailey, and we all know how the RNG is. Hailey looks pretty strong. The QoL stuff is a huge win (HM rework, Mod Slot update, Junking update, etc). Sans pricing, the new cosmetics are a huge win. Character buffs are always a win. The Seasonal Progression I'm saving judgement as on the surface it feels like there's more downside than upside to it. Invasions atm just feel like a big L, and that's the main content...

This one was easy for me. The Agana desert one was the most complicated because the bosses shields were ridiculously strong, and I used all my ammo and I fully specked out thunder cage.

I think the main problem with invasions is the boss design and combat in this game. Nearly all the bosses have homing attacks or attacks that can't be avoided, that is just artificial difficulty. Everything should have counterplay. They need to fix the combat first, before adding anything else, otherwise there will always be issues. Also for the green exploding enemies you can jump in the air to cancel their explosion attack, but be prepeared for every melee enemy to throw a projectile at you as soon as you jump.

Thanks for the video explanation. I just wish the game explained it better. I also appreciate you pointing out that casual players can’t really do this. I’m currently stuck in the story missions because of the difficulty of adds and bosses and puzzles all coming at me at the same time. 😱

I used Blair for my runs on this as well. His first skill kept enemies off of me and made it “easy”.

@DrededS freyna is pretty good for this too. Just throw some poison on the ground and use her self buff and they just kill themselves. And toxic shot kills the stuff on the totem and also leaves poison on the ground to kill the enemies too so you dont really need to think about them

I honestly dont think nexon needs to rebalance this completly. You already showed that it is easily possible to get the right drone with only 1 or 2 symbols and had a ton of time to spare even after some hickups. I do agree with the homing projectiles beeing too agressive because it is annoying to get hit for a good amount of damage with the only counterplay being to sit behind a wall. Also I dont know but I assume that anyone with good defence will easily be killed by the homing projectiles

I can see Sharen being the best in these activities by a long shot. Build her all around invisibility, with low cooldown and high duration to be able to spam it. She also great at boss dps so she will be extremely quick in dealing with these bosses. What do you think Zox?

You know its unfortunate. I actually really enjoy this game. I have a decently built bunny, I just don't like using her. They have mad it so much harder to do these invasions if you are using any other descendant. I have a fully built ult Viessa and Freyna and it is a very sweaty process to complete. There is absolutely no way I am going to bang my head against the wall 4 times a day for the entire season doing these or use a descendant I don't enjoy using just to get them done. It sucks because I was really looking forward to the new season, but I really feel like they missed the mark a bit

The problem with this invasion are not the raid like mechanics solo... It's rather the strict time to achieve gold. They need to relax the time or get rid of it completely.

The only issue I have with the invasion is when you have to climb the top platform and when you hook up right on the edge and you tried to jump, it just dropped you straight down

These missions are designed for Kyle and Ajax! They can do a better job than bunny. These challenges forces you to hold your ground and take damage. People did say it’s all about bunny right so they made this lol

Bunny works wonders in these missions, you just jump while on the platforms or shooting pillars. killing everything within 26 meters means you dont have to tank the damage.

it seems like you're struggling. just use ult bunny with hp collector, 2x skill range so you can kill the mobs around you.

I hate these invasions. I constantly get double symbols requiring a 2nd look at two more symbols I think i noticed something tho. Those stupid escort missions my internet constantly will break the escort drone wire & i have to jump in & out all the time. I'll try that one these. I think it thinks Im out of the field when it blows up

I have an ajax, but I've been working on my ult gley. I went into this with my gley and it wasn't too hard figuring out the mechanics, and it's not hard at all... Just sucks and not really liking it. Def needs to be matchmaking

Lol no one will read all this. Heres my take, and its not going to be a popular one, they don't need to do a thing to this update, to me this update is a huge W, these Devs are very clever and they actually pay attention, they're literally giving you the keys to what endgame is going to look like and gave up the tools to reshape our builds and weapons. They gave us a road map, endgame is: Step 1: Colossus Step 2: Dungeons Step 3: Mega dungeons Step 4: Raids Endgame Starts AFTER Swamp Walker Hard Mode. Your builds are supposed to evolve because you can't one shot solo anything UNLESS you full sent a glass cannon setup. What you want is SURVIVABILITY and SUSTAINABLE damage. Mechanics has been introduced since Obstructor, so you should be used to stuff like that by now, we just have to learn a new mechanic. Did I mention how clever the Devs are? REGULAR Dungeons have no extra fluff they removed what we ignored, the Old Mystery dungeon aka Plasma Heat Batteries farm is just as effective. They eliminated the tedious stuff like picking up batteries or standing in a barrier killing stuff. Now we have to more interactive stuff to do in the NEW Dungeons, which I think they can improve on for sure, but its alot more interactive than standing still shooting adds. Yes, certain descendants will stand out more in these, just like Colossus fights, thats the point but you can do it on the descendant you want to invest in also good build and good weapons, and to bring what Zox said in the video, you get Bunny for free, Valby for free, and a sleeper pick Freyna, Viessa or Gley (they have a movement buff also if you catch my drift) for free. I've gotten gold with Sharen, so I know it's possible to do it with anyone. The first 1 I attempted I got silver cause I was just trying to figure it out. Edit: Be honest with yourselves 80% of the player base plays this game solo. Want to know how I know? None of you use the team chat to communicate to complete Intercept fights lmfao 🤣 so why are people complaining its solo? Cause you cant get carried anymore. (Sorry, not Sorry. Elitist came out of me) Yes, a casual player who only puts in 2 or 3 hours a day (which is fine btw) isn't going to have a easy time in here but thats okay slowly work towards it there will be better ways to get Hailey by the time you get to her. You'll have so much content that you won't know what to do with yourself. You also have 100+ days (2,400+ hours) to grind her out. Or you can buy her. So what I'm saying is not to make it easier keep it the way it is difficulty wise and reward those who has optimized their characters for this.

I read it all and I agree with all of it, like 100%. Also Sharen will be my pick for this stuff, she is gonna be broken with spammable invisibility and does a freakton of damage too for the boss to die quickly. As a former Destiny 2 player with too many hours played on it I agree in particular with the "can't get carried" part, but this game to me is super easy in comparison so it's not really my case for now. We'll see in the future but I don't think they will make this game as difficult in endgame to require active communications, they cather to a very casual audience imho, they won't alienate the casuals if they want the game to keep doing good.

@kalidhos1752 I appreciate you reading all that rambling lol I'm also a former D2 player, this game is leagues behind in terms of difficulty, when people run a raid once a week for a raid or dungeon exclusive weapon 5-100+ runs maybe they'll understand that 5-15 minute runs for guaranteed drops is not so bad lmao.

Also I'm pretty lucky with the drops and experience in D2 grinding makes this game really straightforward, you just multitask and eventually you get whatever you want! ngl in 80 total engrams openings, i got 1 full Ult Gley and 3 extra parts, considering it's the hardest one to get since all parts are 6% I really can't complain xD Nothing like Collective Obligation, that took me 70 runs of VoW I was going insane lol! And it also sucks xD

The over use of tracking attacks on so many enemies is low effort design that leaves no room for counter play. Tank the attack or hide nothing skill based. Maybe adding a way to avoid tracking attacks would be a good idea. Something like a perfectly timed roll or some variation of it. Adding perfect roll would have the added benefit of making the dodge roll no longer useless. Also why does Nexon hate I frames? If Nexon is going to allow us to get knocked out of our long winded animation attacks at least don’t have them trigger the cool down when the don’t fire

So I haven't gotten a chance to log in yet today but looking at what you just did......its a bit worrisome. It looks very difficult for people who don't have characters built up for it. The pillar thing is an ok idea but the fact you have to repeat it 3 times + the seeming extra times for the boss itself.....it just seems a bit overkill and more complicated than it should be. Plus the fact that it had that -chill skill debuff tells me that for the challenges/dailies there are some charcters that just flat out will not be able to do it which seems odd to me. Imagine your only descendant was Viessa and now your just flat out nerfed for this. I still gotta try out for myself but just on what I saw this needs to be reworked.

The enemies are roughly on par with 100% hard enemies, so not that tough. The difficulty comes from the "gimmicks". I have sucky memory so I kept forgetting symbols/colors and had to recheck. Going in blind hurts, but once you know, you'll be fine. The Chapel boss sucks, but tomorrow we'll probably have 2 different invasions.

@@MrNorker77 So I just got through the story bits and have tried the old 2 and the new 2 "dailies" that cycled in today. They are 100% made for people who have already maxed a descendant and weapons for high dmg. The constant onslaught of enemies that seem to hit way harder than the hard enemies in the worlds and dungeons is too much for me. So since I haven't had time or luck to energy activator and crystal unlock my whole descendant and weapons.......the game is basically saying f*** you. The Gimmicks (while stupid) arent that big of a deal as I have played MMO's with far more annoying gimmicks and complicared gimmicks. I guess I don't get to do any of them now. Just back to trying to get materials and gold to get some kind of dmg. Its just so frustrating that because I am unlucky I can't do it because My weapons are all stuck with 1 or 2 slots unlocked and all my descendants have like 1 slot unlocked.....sigh

@@zachariousmccool5768lemme give you a tip, unlock Sharen, give her around 19 seconds duration on invisibility (you don't need to catalize even 1 slot, you just need 1 maximize duration mod, focus the rest on HP and DEF), focus on 1 weapon (I would suggest a sniper for the boss to kill him quick with her insane buff on shots while invisible), it's gonna be easy and pretty fast to achieve. Then work on another weapon like Greg's, so when the modifier is against your main weapon you will have a backup gun to use. Sharen can reset the cooldown of the invisibility skill by killing 1 add with another skill while you have the invisibility buff (so kill either while you're invis or just after invis has run out, read the invis skill description) so you can spam it and ignore every add until the boss room (where adds are rare or non existant), she is gonna be a great descendant for these activities.

@@XSoulgamez No, the drones (if you are refering to the tumor/drone thing) have small numbers that designate 1 to 4. The pillars are 1 to 4 from top to bottom. Only realized this after I done the mission...

I'm not in a rush to get haily. While these puzzles are tedious, the gold reward and knowing that you are, virtually, guaranteed to get haily at some point makes it bearable.

My recommendation: get Jayber and build him. The turrets are really helpful. They passively kill many adds and they pull aggro. I main him and after i understood the mechanics I easily got silver. Just missed gold by a few seconds, because my weapons are not completely build yet. But that content is nontheless unfun to play and the grind mixed with the rng is just an insult to all players by the Devs. I dont understand why those things are solo. The game is only fun when i play with my friend. Playing the grind solo is just boring. This is an online game so I want to play with my friends and not alone... This content feels like a cheap mobile game.

I've been playing 'The First Descendant' for many hours daily and have been having an absolute blast, but I have to say, the new Invasion Infiltration missions are really disappointing. They aren't hard or challenging; they're just plain annoying and boring. It feels like a huge step back from the rest of the game. Whoever was responsible for these missions needs to seriously reconsider what they think is fun or challenging because this isn't it. If someone did oversee this, they should be replaced. I will not be playing the Invasion missions because I enjoy the fun aspects of the game, and these missions remind me too much of AION, which was the most stressful game I've ever played. This kind of experience just isn't for me! I do not have FOMO.

I don’t get it if it wasn’t for the fact that this is how u get the new character vs buying her I don’t get why people hate this… I love learning mechanics puzzles and mechanics similar to this is what I absolutely love about destiny raids… It’s just the gate keeping of the new character behind the fact you can only do this so many times a day is absolute horseshut (iykyk) honestly gets your brain engaged… I understand the luck behind getting the other characters but this is not the same. If they let you repeat over and over then it would be very much so similar to the percent drops of amorphs you run till you get it… except this has a pretty determined amount of times you need to run.

It’s not making me want to do it more than once, there are so many other activities in this game that are more enjoyable and have far greater rewards. Maybe after a couple more updates they’ll so some tweaks to the invasions so they are more enjoyable and with the time

@@Justin-cs9dudon't forget you are a outlier here. A vast majority of the player base want action and fan service not these puzzles. I for one don't mind them but they have really haven't hit the sweet spot between puzzle and combat. Right now all it is to me is doing a mini puzzle while being swarmed by gnats and mosquitos for my trouble. It's extremely annoying.

Doesnt matter you can get her parts elsewhere, this is the content, and maybe the vision for the game going forward (think of that), and it sucks.

This event is crap, no explanation, this season is very disap pointing, as the grind for Haley. They change the way to gain the descendant. And its tanked. I did 10 " the Haven" and not a chip drop for Blue Print. And 36 are required only for the blue print.
