A tip for old towels: donate them to animal shelters. They use/wash so many towels one a daily basis and can never have enough.

The "Dad-issue" concerning Christmas gifts is a real struggle! For the last couple of years, I always bought either sustainable showers sets, soccer equipment or kitchen supplies. This year I was completely out of ideas, so I binged ALL of your Christmas guides and now have decided to give him a gift card to his favorite local restaurant, which I know he will love, either to order food now during the lockdown or to eat dinner there after! So, a huge Thank you from all the people struggling to give their Dad gifts, I believe this is a very mutual feeling in this comment section. :D

Omg yes!! My dad has a shelf where he keeps every little thing I've given him since I was born, pretty much 🤣 I'm 25 so you can imagine the state of that shelf lol. He even never uses the practical ones.too 😭😭 I've given up 🤣 the only thing he'll actually use is a nice beer! And that after a lot of thought, he wants to keep it for a special occasion!

I like when you talked about "an actual need" i got my brother dress shirts and ties because he NEEDS them. He spends all his money on his kids. My mom is obsessed with using press and seal so I felt she had a NEED for wax food wraps. I also got her sustainable dushwasher tabs and laundry sheets from earth hero. Something I know will get used up and hopefully make her switch to something better. Much better than knick knacks!

So cool that you and your brother exchange handmade gifts. I love making gifts, but no one I know appreciates them! We're still pretty low waste in my family (by accident)- we're all avid readers, so we just exchange books (and booze).

My dad is the same.. he doesn't want many presents( happy me because i am also minimalistic) and doesn't need much..His birthday is in the same month.. So i always give him his favorite drink, we go to the movies together ( but at a moment there is something we both want to see in 4dx.. so this can be in januari, but also a bit later), something small he needs like tissues or socks and this year i also decided to give him a letter.. We are people who don't talk much about our emotions.. So with the presents i will give him a letter wich say i am proud of him and stuff like that. Maybe a letter with how you feel about someone is also a great gift. .. I think gifts not always have to be things. Home baked things like coockies are well appreciated too.

I loved your Christmas Eve vlog from last year when you were stretching, singing, and drinking wine with your Mom and your G-ma. I am looking forward to seeing your Danish, vegan, cozy Christmas vlog that you will put out this year. Also... thinking ahead to your low waste hobbies video in 2021... this girl always has to give her shout-out to yoyoing 🪀 (YAASS... freestyle yoyoer here)... Yoyoing is no waste (strings can be reused for other purposes), no batteries/electricity, affordable, portable, all ages/inclusive, tactile and cognitive (hands and brain working together) and skills based....you can learn everything from KZbin, and it looks really frickin’ cool (people love it!!). Lastly, I live in northern 🇨🇦... insects are thriving here... I would love it if they left us to go visit other folks all over the world. I will tell them to go to your brother’s insect hotel in Denmark... haha. Thank-you for this video Gittemary. Merry Christmas to you and Jens, and your family too.

It was very common to see people using steel lunchboxes in my country. But with western exposure (no offence please) plastic became more popular and people now think having steel lunch boxes is outdated and embarrassing. But its not. Its really good, both being durable and economic at the same time. Ps: we still use steel lunch boxes, a majority of us.

For your father you can get him spices and spice blends you know he'd like, this can enhance his meals without great skill and if you make your own spice blend especially for his taste then it can be really special. If he has a sweet tooth I find gifting cookie dough to freeze is great because then they can have freshly baked cookies on demand without making the dough themselves.
