Hi Bud, If there is some Jewellery in it try using some Sulfuric Acid in the mix as there might be a presence of lead, Rolled gold is just a thick layer gold rolled onto Brass or Copper where they would just solder the ends together (but you know this, and the sulfuric Acid will stop any lead coming out of solution) The way I would of done it after the electro plating is by a few Nitric boils and then off to Aqua Regia. I only try to help as the Nitric Boils Will take out all the impurities and leave the gold powder at the bottom of the beaker. I Hope this helps. Johan.

I only acquired the pregnant solution. I didn't actually have the gold filled material to start with. But yes, i would process gold filled with dilute nitric acid.

It won't stop the lead coming out, you want the lead to come out of solution so you can filter it out as lead sulfate.

According to sreetips, you need a fume hood. He has permanent damage from breathing nitric fumes outside. I'm no expert, just passing along what I read.
