Hey gang. I’ve received a lot of questions since I posted my Delta 2 review on which power station is the best option for the money. I hope this video helps your decision, and for me, it’s an easy decision.

I bought my Ecoflow for weekend camping trips and it has performed well above my expectations in that area. I was leaning toward the Jackery for a while, but the more research I do, the more my head is being turned by other options. The Delta 2 just has so much more going for it. The 3K cycles before 80% is huge as is the charge time and the expandability. Those threee things sells it. The other flaw with the Jackery is their proprietary solar connections to the unit which makes providing your own solar panels more difficult. Thanks for the great nonsense comparison. It is appreciated.

The jackery 1000 here that i have have andersen and 8mm connector which are not proprietary. I was able to easily find extension and mc4 converter to eventually plug on another RV. The jackery has a better 12 v 13.8 stable even at max draw. The ecoflow drop at 10V which would shutdown the devices. Watch Hobotech testing. However the ecoflow has safer lifePo4. The solarsaga 100w jackery have also extra usb ports that are helpfull to get full usage of the panel without even the generator. The jackery miss the 100w port for ipad pro but honestly it can still charge the ipad pro and all the devices. It is reliable and run my compressor fridge 12v. Dometic cfx3 45 for 4.5 days without charging. With solar i get 100% battery everyday. We are happy with it and it is small and lightweight in my trunk with the fridge.

Recently went camping, and took my Jackery Explorer 1500 to power a 48qt portable fridge/freezer for a little over 3.5 days. I also have an EcoFlow Delta Max, with 2 extra add-on batteries. I took the Jackery because I figured if it was stolen I wouldn't feel as bad as if the EcoFlow was taken...but I'd still be pissed-off. Anyway, between running the fridge for 3.5 days (which was not constantly opened/closed), and charging grandkids phones/tablets. I also ran a Keurig coffee maker, but would make a cup and unplug the Keurig, so it wasn't a constant pwr draw. I had to run my portable inverter generator twice to keep the Jackery charged to keep the fridge/freezer doing it's intended job. On the third day I had to run the inverter/generator for 4 hrs to recharge the Jackery. Next trip I take my EcoFlow Delta Max.

I've used the Jackery 1000 now for more than a year and the Ecoflow Delta 2 for two months. The Ecoflow's electronics is more sensitive than a woman's feelings. The EF must be used with a surge protector plug together with a voltage protector plug when charging via AC to protect the electronics inside. Yes, the EF can be used as an UPS/EPS, but the unit's fail rate is almost 99% when permanently used that way. I think the % return rate for repairs on EF units must be high compared to Jackery (this aspect you will not read/hear in any online review). The Jackery 1000 is rugged and there is no fancy technology and electronics - it's old school. After a year of using it almost daily during loadshedding in South Africa, the Jackery is still 100% ito battery life and everything is working perfectly. Only time would tell on the EF Delta 2. If I would choose a unit for outdoors, the EF will stay home.

Earlier this week it was so cold we had rolling power outages. Thirty minutes the power was off, then five minutes the power was back on. This went on for three hours. The Delta 2 could at least top up the battery in that 5 minutes. LFP and rapid charging are the most important features for me.

I was a Jackery fanboy until my 2yr warranty ran out and just 3 months later my 1000 Explorer decided to just turn itself off and won't turn back on. It was fully charged when I plugged in my 37 qrt ARB fridge to ready for a camping trip. An hour later the unit had turned off and no amount of resets, attempted charging, etc.... it won't turn on. I contacted Jackery to see if there is any after warranty support in the way of a repair facility that I could ship it to and have it repaired (on my dime). Nope, and doesn't look like they plan to bother. So, now I am holding a very lightly used pretty $1000 brick. A five year warranty would have sufficed at this point as newer technology would most likely be available by then and worth an upgrade regardless if my Jackery was still running or not. Currently chatting with other brands (including EcoFlow) regarding after warranty product support. Wish me luck!

Dealbreaker is a matter of intended use. I have both units and agree that the EcoFlow is better in every respect but one. The noise made by the Eco flow is not a little bit louder it is dramatically louder and would make the unit unacceptable for use with a CPAP machine. When I say loud I mean jet aircraft on final takeoff. Will keep them both as the EcoFlow runs appliances that will not run with a Jackery

People make a huge deal about the cycle life difference between LFP and NMC battery chemistries. Honestly, it doesn't make much difference in terms of actual life-span of the product, unless you actually fully charge and discharge every single day. If you fully charge and discharge the Jackery once per week, 500 cycles will get you 10 full years of service. If you keep the NMC cells in the Jackery between 10% and 90%, never fully charging or discharging, you'll get 1,500 cycles or more. The main reason to get LFP cells versus NMC is for safety. There is little or no risk of thermal runaway with LFP, like there is with NMC. Also, why didn't you review the newest Jackery product, since you're showing the VERY GOOD EF Delta 2? (The Ecoflow is the hands-down winner in this comparison, for sure!)

👍🏻 I didnt review the “pro” because I don’t have one yet, and all of the questions I’ve been getting have been about this Jackery 1000. I did note that some of the downfalls of the 1000 probably have been upgraded by the pro model. But honestly, don’t see how Jackery will continue to sell this version even at the discounted $849. Too many other better options out there for that price point.

I have 2 Ecoflow Powerstations, the Delta Mini and a River Mini. I wish I would have waited before buying to get the Delta 2 because of the LifePo4 Battery. I got the other two back around Amazon Primeday so got pretty good deals on them, paid around $640 for the Delta Mini and around $150 for the River Mini. Long before the Delta 2 became available, I will eventually get a Delta 2 or another Ecoflow Product but making sure it has the LifePo4 Battery Chemistry. I see they are getting ready to release River 2 variants in their product line soon. Will definitely like to see what new River 2 products will become available. I also have old Goal Zero Models that are still working pretty good, but then again I don't go through and cycle them often either. Those rated around 500 cycles, but I'd estimate I've only gone through less than 50 cycles through them so they are still lasting a very long time for me. I do check and top them off every few months so they don't self-discharge too much during storage. I have these mainly for emergency and power outage situations so they don't get used every day.

It's a powerstation, you don't need LIFEPO4 chemistry, only if you move to an offgrid location and you charge it daily. The most important aspect to a powerstation is it's size and weight, and LFP has big minus in this area. Next aspect is the efficiency, you want to have the highest one on the AC conversion. Usually a bigger AC inverter has higher power loss at low power loading so here you don't need to overshoot it, less is good if it fits to normal usage...again it's a powerstation use it as intended, not to power heatpumps or hairdrier....

The jackery is better to manage 12v at max Amp. The ecoflow drop at 10V which will shut down the devices. See Hobotech test. My jackery 1000 run my Dometic fridge compressor Ac/DC. cfx3 45 without charging for nearly 5 days. And with solar the solar saga 2x100w panel i get 100% battery everyday for unlimited number of pays. And if i need to charge without the sun i can use my car 400w inverter ti charge it as it draws only 145w from the plug to charge faster. The panel can receive also some usb a and c devices directly so it does not draw anything from the jackery. The only cons of the jackery is that the battery are lithium and not safer lifepo4. It also would be good to have more powerful mppt controller solar input to use fully the 200w panels.

Jackery has the new 1000 pro that I believe has 1000 cycles now. The Jackery having one carry handle looks easier to transport. Since I'll be taking it on the road, I went with the new Jackery. The Bluetti was a 2nd choice. I doubt I'll ever in my lifetime use 1000 cycles. If I do, it still will operate at 80%. By then, technology will make all of these choices obsolete.

I don't think it's always a case of more lifecycles = more better. Depends on your use-case. If you're using the thing mostly for going camping let's say a month a year, and you're putting let's say 50 cycles a year on it, the smaller weight that comes with the Jackery might be a more useful argument than the pure amount of cycles, since you'll take years to get there anyway. Jackery got popular by hiring social media influencers to promote their products. I know some of the influencers and they are clueless. They never used any solar generators but because they were paid they praised the Jokery

Jackery seems to only care about portability. If weight is a huge factor for you, then they do work well. Especially the new Pro models. But the older ones are losing their value now. They can't really keep up with the competition.

Great review to point out the differences between the two soul generators. But, my deal breaker is that if I recall, there’s a pretty loud fan that runs almost all the time on the Eco flow. No such thing on the jackery. That might be enough to sway me.

The Solar/car charging input port on the EcoFlow Delta 2 IS NOT FUSED and WILL BURN OUT. EcoFlow only honors input from their foldable panels. Now it needs repair and EcoFlow won't do it.. You gotta check those little details. I don't know about any others in this regard. M

You should compare the Jackery 1000 Pro to the Delta 2. That's more of an even comparison. I have the Jackery 1000 and Jackery 100 Pro. The Pro is much better. I don't like the super loud fans for the Delta. I have the River Pro. The app is a pain to setup. But I still like it. It's available for a great price at Costco right now. I'm getting the Bluetti AC200 Max next.

@BrianWatersOutdoors

The 1800 Jackery is not comparable at all. These are the two closest so I would say this is apples to apples given they are basically the exact same price and exact some capacity at around 1000 watt hours.

I don't think you covered this. But I know that for example, the jackery 500 is NOT good for powering a camping fridge because if it runs TOO efficient, and only draws like 1 or 2watts it'll turn off. Then1000 fixes this by turning off after 12hrs, much more reasonable. Will the delta 2 be able to sustain at very low power draw as well?
@BrianWatersOutdoors

Thanks for another amazing review with side-by-side comparisons. So I bought the Newair 80QT fridge and took it out for a 2 day camping trip. I used the Jackery 500 to power it and was charging it using Jackery's 100 watt solar panel. I was having trouble keeping the Jackery 500 powered up enough to keep the fridge running . Would this Ecoflow you have in this video power that fridge for 2-3 days?
@BrianWatersOutdoors
@BrianWatersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Hard to tell, but not for a full 3 days without either solar input or recharging. Or if you set the fridge to a higher temp and hardly ever open it. Whatever you can do to not keep that compressor from constantly cutting on

I understand if you don't have one but it's not really fair to compare the new ecoflow product with the old jackery. Ecoflow did some nice things in terms of life cycles and charging speed but those efficiency numbers are atrocious. 78% compared to 90% could be as much of a deal breaker as the life cycle difference. Ecoflow can and has done much better. And what's with that fan noise?
@BrianWatersOutdoors
@BrianWatersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I agree, but that is what was asked of me more than any other comment was “which one, Jackery Explorer 1000 or Ecoflow Delta 2”, so that is what I did. I tried to explain that in the beginning of the video. Hopefully in the near future I’ll get my hands on the “pro” mode to do that comparison.
@rizipt
@rizipt Жыл бұрын
@@BrianWatersOutdoors That's fair and I appreciate the reply. Jackery made some improvements but still fall short in almost every category you mentioned. I'm looking for something with high efficiency out of the dc port and Jackery seems to be the only ones putting an emphasis on that.
@rizipt
@rizipt Жыл бұрын
I have a Bluetti AC300. It's great for high output but it uses a lot of power just to run so I dare not keep anything plugged in all the time. I'd like to power a 12v fridge but it uses 17watts every hour just to power and regulate the dc. I'm thinking about the Ecoflow River pro you reviewed. I just don't understand how you got more out of it the longer you used it. I also don't want anything real big because I already have that hulk unit.

i dont know if you have reviewed any of the zendure units. they seem to be very efficient like the jackery 1000 with 90+% on both ac and dc. hobotech just did a review with a prototype on a model they have a kickstarter for that is in competition with ecoflow and bluetti for a whole house back up and it even has 240 volt power supply which i believe is a first in one power station unit.

Man there are so many better alternatives to jackery now. I came across the pecron e2000 lifepo4. So far it has great youtube reviews. It has a even higher efficiency than jackery and cheaper per wh. Does the Eco Flow stats solar charging from the first watt coming in? The Jackery does. The most power stations need about 10, 20 or more incoming watts to start solar charging. Not good in bad weather conditions, early at the morning or late at the afternoon. The Jackery charges the whole day in cloudy/covered weather conditions. This very importend point made the Jackery if you use the thing as a offgrid mobile power station.
