are you thinking about shaving your head? Have you always wanted a buzz cut? Or does this just sound like an interesting experiment? In this video, I want to share all the things I wish I knew before shaving my head, which are also the things I think you need to know before making the final decision. I hope it's helpful :)

if you have thought about shaving your head: Do you think you would regret it more if you go for it (and don't like the look) or do you think you would regret it more if you never tried it?

You inspired me to buzz cut my hair after seeing your first hair cutting video. I love not having to worry about styling my hair or hair accessories and products. In a hot climate it's so much easier to stay cool. No one expects me to grow out my hair anymore and at 76 I have finally hair freedom. Thank you for the inspiration.

I moved to a hot country so I've started to shave my hair for the summer. Honestly, never looked better, it's my favourite haircut now.

Lia, I'm a 26-year-old girl, and I've been wearing a buzzcut for almost 2 years now - because of you :) And you've touched upon some very important topics in this video. We should really be more open-minded about our looks! Btw, I have darker hair naturally, and this month I've bleached it and dyed it white :D Pink is going to be next!

The grass needs a hair cut too 😂 I was in a church that requires women to keep their hair uncut. It was seen as a sin to cut the woman’s hair. I tried for a few years to let it grow and not cut it but I couldn’t continue. I love my hair short and decided I couldn’t continue with that church. I wish I could cut it myself but my eyesight is not good so I do go every 4 weeks for a cut. I love my short hair.

This is a fabulous video. I am over 50 and shaved my hair two years ago and have loved it ever since. These points/suggestions are right on. It definitely made me realize what clothes look good on me and what don’t which in turn, helped me minimize and streamline my wardrobe. And yes, definitely it does create awareness about your looks. I find I like to accentuate other parts of my body, such as my lips with soft lipstick, my eyebrows with powder, and small simple earrings And I found I was definitely talking about my hair more than normal with other people… But in a different way than you did… People complemented me on it and were felt encouraged to do the same with theirs! Oh, and don’t get me started on the money that I have saved! I do it myself and I no longer colour it… Embrace the grey!! You look absolutely fabulous with your buzz cut!

I don't ever cut my hair anymore. I just tie it up and use the same soap for scalp and body. It's way minimal. I own a comb and hair brush.

Same here. And I wash it once a week (takes me 5 minutes ), and let it air dry. No special products, not much caring time (brushing is 1 minute a day), no styling products or time (that pony tail is done without a mirror in a second), no bad hair day (It's too long for doing funny things, and I don't have curls). I find it the most practical "hairstyle" for me.

I had my head shaved in 2008, because of a big brain surgery. Until then i had always had really long hair, and thought that i only looked good with long hair. I do not want a buzz cut, because of my scarves but i have since then had almost every hair style i can imagine, i am now just growing out an undercut. I realised that hair grows much faster than you think and i like trying out different styles. I also discovered my love for hats, i never used to like them on me, but now i could not imagine one cold season without the lovely warmth and style of a great cool hat.

Hi Lia I loved this video because I buzz my hair too and I agree with all the points you made. I feel my true self when my hair is very short and it makes me happy. I think you look great too.

I think people need to keep ugly opinions to themselves. I have had all different hair styles and cuts over my lifetime. For me its my business how I wear my hair....and yours as well....me i prefer shorter hair its easier to take care of. I think you can pull this off....so don't worry about what others think do what makes you feel happy. God Bless

Watching your videos is so calming in a way - somehow even just scrolling through the list of your videos is. I especially appreciate this video because I'm thinking about buzzing my hair off since 2018 or so but I never pulled the trigger. I'm especially afraid of how society/people around me will percieve me with a buzz cut and how they might treat me then. But also, as you stated, I don't know how I'll percieve myself with such short hair, how beautiful I'll find myself then. In a way it might challenge the way I define "beauty" and the way I look at myself. But that might also come with feeling ugly for a while (you know not because people with buzz cuts are ugly but because as individuals we are much more critical with ourselves) and maybe even with self hate. I'll absolutely regret if I never try having a buzz cut so maybe I should turn things around: challange the way I define beauty, work on my self esteem and stop letting the length of my hair be such a important part of me (for me and for others). :)

I've seen older videos of you with longer hair and I truly think the super short hair goes with your vibe way better. It looks more like you, more cohesive imho. But of course that's just my personal opinion and you can for sure wear whatever you fancy. I had a buzzcut myself several years ago - it was mainly a reset because my hair was very damaged and I also felt so attached to it that I actually wanted to free myself from it, if that makes sense. So it was also a mental reset for me. And it did work. I felt liberated and focused more on my mental development ever since. The impact this buzzcut had on me is still lasting, even 6 years later. And yes, people will comment on it a lot, they will tell you what they think, no matter if you wanna know or don't care. This can be very annoying. But it actually taught me to care less about other people's opinions about the way I look and I love that. It's like you finally taught yourself to have the freedom to just do what you want. And that's beautiful.

You said exactly what i was thinking. I've always thought about how great it would feel to have a buzz cut, but just don't want to deal with having to talk about it to others. Because hair doesn't feel important to me, i just keep cutting ii in a short bob so there is nothing to talk about!

Thanks for your talk, bringing up this topic, requestioning about beauty the society and your own beauty standard and femininity. This kind of topic is what I had in my mind when I did my first buzz cut in 2020 spring❤ but not much discussed or even pointed out. the hair represents so much than you (I) thought! One thing I find really interesting is that people wondered how my husband reacted with my buzz cut.

I recently tried cutting my own hair and I realised that it wasn't as scary as I thought it'd be. Ofc I didn't give myself a buzzcut but I did do an undercut and trimmed about 5cm off what was left

So many good points. People have lots of opinions but many are just envious of your bravery and wish they could buck the system too. TBH I wish I had buzzed my hair at the start of the pandemic so I could’ve tried it out without having to face other people’s reactions! 😂 I know that’s a bit silly. It’s so hot here this week I was thinking about cutting all my hair off even before your video came out.

Usually I cut it to 9 mm, this time 12 mm but I mad a mistake at the end (off camera, and really stupid 😂) so some parts are shorter now, you will see it in next week's video...

How do you know if you have a bad skull until you shave it and see? haha I have seen a few bad skulls on men before.
@ecofriendlia
@ecofriendlia 17 күн бұрын
Yes, you don't know. But I hear so many people say that they are afraid of it and I think it's not very likely and if one side of your skull is super flat for example you can also see and feel that with long hair. And the minor things are invisible after growing out your hair for just a few weeks. So I think you don't habe to be that afraid of a bad skull...plus you are of course allowed to have short hair with any skull :)

Of course, women or men we all have our feminine and masculine parts! Depends on everybody how she or he wants to live, most men hide their feminity and most of women their masculinity and it depends on character, society and also age.. I think that you are testing yourself.
