The connection is the same, the rules for which zones are armed or disarmed are about your coding you do in the alarm panel. When you disarm, if all zones are on partition 1, then all can be disarmed.

@@ecologicaltime i wanted to set one of the Other profiles created to activate when i press the remote button. is that possible? Basically i bypass a section or two when my pets are indoor and would like that profile to be the default when arming with remote

What if you don't have an IDS remote but rather an et remote? How could you use it to arm the alarm

So i have a client with a ET remote that was programed with a laptop for his x64 system. I have learned the ET remote in as the system stated success but the remote still not working. I am obviously missing something stupidly small setting somewhere but have no idea where to look - Please help GREAT VIDEO's btw - i subbed and follow you now - great variaty content for everyday DIY'r to follow and fix some simple home issues..... Howzit. Just discovered all your IDS videos after a lot of cursing. After the last bout of load shedding my remote receiver is flashing a very fast green light, which I understand is a sign of trouble. Any way to debug that? I can't find anything in the user manuals. And not keen on forking out R600 for a new receiver. Would appreciate some help, if you have the spare cycles.

Great video. Is it possible to have the front gate remote activate the alarm system simultaneously (ie: the alarm system is always armed with the front gate magnetic contacts. Opening the gate with the remote will disarm the alarm and will automatically rearm when closed) Thanks in advance

You can set the alarm to disarm when opening the gate. You can have one remote being received by two receivers and the other receiver can be set to arm or disarm for that button press while the main receiver can be set to open gate for that same button press. Arming when closed via contacts, i am not sure. I don't know if IDS settings have a "zone close = arm the alarm" function. It sounds like you have a situation where someone is not rearming your alarm? You can auto arm the system as well. But to answer your question, you can a workaround and use the magnetic contacts connected to a relay (transmitter) which is also an arm signal for your alarm

the ids receiver connects to their bus so yes its necessary. if you want to use other remotes, you will need to hard wire the panic but stay and arm / disarm wont work.

the person has wired your relay as normally closed. Swap it to be normally open and then change on the gate side as well.

depends on where it is installed. If behind wall, its less. If outside in plastic container its better. I can open gates from about 50m. Not as sensitive as the Sherlotronics receivers. I also find if the remote is in my car the receiver range is much less. If remote is ion hand, it works better (ie holding out of window or walking with remote)
