Hinge is faulty as the metal broke and the temple fell off. Using superglue, it is fixed.

Actually, my glasses broke, just like that. I took them to an optics place to have them repaired and the man told me that it was impossible. When I asked why, he said: because there is no access. So I got in here, found your video and liked it. I followed your instructions and I fixed them myself!!! They are not perfect, but they are put together and won't come off. I feel they will tie me over until I get my new prescriptions in a month or two. Thank you so very very much!

I have done this a few times on the same glasses and it holds for a while definitely but I was watching a totally unrelated video on repairing screw holes on kitchen doors where the wood has broken and made the screw hole too big… in it they used cotton wool and super glue so the last time my glasses did this I got some fine strands of the cotton wool and pushed it into the arm bracket and dropped some super glue in first as you showed and then I pushed in a few fine strands of the cotton wool , I did let a few strands stay along the length of the hole so you could see some sticking out then I followed the way you then positioned the broken part of the bracket with super glue and pushed it in to the arm side… unlike previous repairs so far this repair has held much longer…. And is still going strong….

Great job. I bought the good metal glue and a soldering kit BEFORE seeing your video, but this really helps in terms of how to apply the glue with the toothpick and also the spacing. Thank you! Excellent video.

Wtf? 200$ for eyeglasses? Are there a jewel or just plastic with aluminium? Don't let eyeglasses manufacturers scam you.

Glasses are expensive, you know? Up to 400$ or maybe even more!!
@eddyalvaross2195Ай бұрын
Glasses are actually not expensive. The expensive ones are ones labeled as "luxurious". They're not even made with diamonds or extremely precious material to support their price. It's outrageous business with money going off the charts for things that actually don't cost that much to produce. You can get good quality glasses at the prices of 30-40 $, including optical ones.

This happened to my glasses. For the amount that I paid for them, I think they should be better made so that this doesn't happen. Anyway, I ended up buying new frames on Ebay before finding your video. I was lucky I bought the last one available.

Great video - thank you. I fixed the hinge some time ago with superglue. It subsequently came adrift again and now I can't repeat because there is some superglue in the slot so the hinge piece won't go in completely. Any idea of how I can sort this out?
@Chr07354 ай бұрын
yep i've tried that, the result my frame got snap again and more ruined looks more dirt superglue. superglue are useless if exposed to our sweat or salty environment. superglue method just works for temporary about 1-3 weeks only as emergency until you buy new frame again😂

Good instruction - I question how long the super glue would hold up .... soldiering - I think it would be hard if not all but impossible to get it to flow into the hinge - would have to use and iron not open flame and would it stick to what ever allow the hinge is made of ... My question and it may not work JB weld ( grey ) I am temped to use it instead of Super glue
