This channel really needs way more subs, it's very good. I think the only critique I can come up with is just one of production value, but recycling assets is really quite clever, not something to be derided. I think investing in perhaps higher quality assets, perhaps even with limited animation, might be a good idea if you're keen to use them, so often. Good job though, very clear language.

Why should we socially engineer a reduction of racial gaps? Why can't we be content letting each population group fare as well as they can without having to artificially prop some population groups up? Here are some examples: I belong to an eye glass wearing population. I pay for my glasses. Folks that decend from East Africa have to deal with the fact that on average they are not fast sprinters while conversely West Africans have to deal with the fact that they on average are not good distance runners. Bloodhounds on average are not optimized for being good at shepherding but they obviously excel at tracking. However you group different populations, you will find innate differences in ability. Schools should be celebrated for increasing academic gaps. Smart people learn faster.

You’ve conflated the racial and gender discrimination demonstrated in the video with ability discrimination. That’s racist and sexist. The study’s hypothetical job candidates didn’t have differing ability, only different names.

i think part of the fundamental problem of what your talking about is that you are even mentioning innate differences in ability. while nobody would deny these across the board, they simply don't apply here in any way... the reasons that racial gaps exist is because of a few interesting things. first, there was slavery. basically what this did was enslave black people in the united states while white people could build wealth by buying or expanding land, working, etc. then, there was jim crow / segregation. basically what happened then was black people were no longer enslaved, but lived as second class citizens. white people expanded their generational wealth by buying homes, getting good educations, owning businesses, etc. (keep in mind that solely based on race, black people could not do these things). now, we get what people often call institutional racism. if we take a look at all of these historical events, which put people of color down socially and economically solely based on the color of their skin, we can see why many racial gaps exist. sure, redlining and these other racist policies no longer exist, but how does this matter? history has consequences. if i take a group of white people and i let them build wealth and dominate society for centuries, then i suddenly make everything equal, how can i expect a group who is largely uneducated due to past racist policy and largely poor due to past racist policy, and simply attribute the racial gaps to "difference in ability"? you would need to completely ignore the hundreds of years in which one group has been forcibly marginalized and shut out from the mainstream economy. however you group different populations, you will find innate differences in ability, sure, but when you force black people to not own businesses, get educated, own good homes, etc. for hundreds of years, then turn around and say that they are experiencing racial gaps due to innate differences in ability, you don't just look like someone who is searching for the truth and trying to figure something out.. you look like someone who is trying to justify their racist beliefs with logic that is simply ahistorical. i cant even believe people like this still exist. Even my AP Macro/Micro teacher who is the biggest free-market capitalist & libertarian acknowledges that history has consequences, and social mobility in the united states is not at a point where no compensation will lead to fixing the gaps that we artificially created based on racist policy in the past. if smart people really learn faster, hopefully you can pick this up quickly! good luck

@@TomLieber Even when candidates have the same credentials, they can have different abilities as cited in this video (summary given at the 4:52). kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIaxqJuwjNtlfrs Also, I did not conflate anything. I'm just saying that there are differences between groups. That makes me neither a racist nor a sexist.

@@iqdusk5551 You spoke of the reason why racial gaps exist, but you did not state the most obvious reasons: there are cognitive and cultural advantages associated with some population groups. The severe discrimination of the past and the minimal discrimination of the present is not enough to cause the magnitude of current racial gaps. There are just too many counter-examples for you or anyone else to lean on that dogma. There are many poor immigrants they came to the states and thrived. The plight of some population groups is on the decline relative to other population groups and that is due to disparities in the quality of various types of subcultures.

@@hammockcamping2500 jesus. i get ur racist but stop tryna justify it. the cognitive aspect of what r saying is pseudoscientific and completely racist. the cultural aspect is an irresponsible thing to being up in respect to the united states, or any country which has influenced and destroyed culture through systemic racist policies. u cant act as if all the things i talked about don't influence culture. u sound like tucker carlson sayingh that people not eating with forks is part of their bad culture. no. its poverty, and its not their faults. there aren't counter examples. there is noone of any sort of acedemic stature who studies this that agrees w ur horribly racist premise that the differences in society are not caused by history, but mainly by "cognitive function". ur cognitive function is incredibly low unfortunately. and the immigrant thing doesn't apply at all. unless u can't even understand standard deviation or percentages/probability. fuck off man. go preach ur shit on some shitty other website.
