Planned questions. Why is everyone asking all the questions from NPP? It looks like everyone is bullying one party - the NPP . Why? Because they are all so scared. Good job Dr. Harshana you are doing a great job with this. Clearly NPP has a wave of support coming at them. They need to be prepared to answer all the questions which are relevant which might clear doubts of some who are not sure who to vote. So according to me, NPP should take this as an opportunity which would also mean they have an actual plan to address the economy woes of the country.

they are the least known out of the 4 main candidates. So its fair they are quizzed more as ppl pretty much know what and how other 3 offer. It is fair game and NPP should take it positively and use it to tell the public that they know what they are talking about. NPP did ok, but there is clearly room to improve. This is not the exact debate we expected! But it showed that the willingness of some parties to question policies of NPP! That’s good! FIrst of all the audience must learn to listen to the speakers rather than applauding Dr Harsha’s interfering questions! I am not a PhD holder in Economics, But I want know Why these guys are thinking that we cannot alter the DSA! As I remember some countries like India and South Korea, the respective governments of those countries given their own plan to deal with the IMF! Including the DSA! It may be planned. But people are vigilant to know stance each party handle this economic crisis. Shehan told it took 2 years to implement program. But I don't see it would take that time, time taken was due to incompetentancy and lack of mandate of prevailing government. If NPP propose a new DSA, it may take another 6 months IMF agreement, 6 months for implementing (only if everything goes well as predicted), until that time what should be NPP 's backup plan to manage crisis?

What is there to be best. He just criticized others parties without giving any technical information about how they going to perform. I’ve gone through the NPP's 233-page manifesto, and here’s my take: Pros: 1. It’s well-structured. 2. Presents an ideal vision of the Sri Lankan standard of living. 3. Advocates for an open market economy. Cons: 1. Lacks a clear roadmap to achieve its economic goals. 2. Insufficient details on the plan to digitalize the state. 3. It contains more blame than actionable strategy. Dr. Harshana's presentation echoed similar sentiments. While I fully acknowledge the corruption and mismanagement of the past, and agree that those responsible shouldn’t be given a second chance, it’s equally important not to elect someone solely because they haven’t been in power before. First, I'm not any political expert or neither economic expert; but I do refer most of policy documents NPP, UNP(Mr HE) and etc. and doing still. On my point of view, I was expecting good set of policies from all the parties and more elaboration of their povs. Highly impressive with Dr Harshana's way of handeling the situation while he wasn't informed about the degree of the discussion. In my opinion NPP should go for the numbers and do real analysis to show the public how they going to achieve there aim of our countries future all the aspects. I mean it'll attract the most of intellectual of the country too. Others should improve their policies alot and rather fallacies like Mahinada Chinathanya. The leaders should come to the ground and do their what ever deliverance. Also, I'm suggesting CCC to conduct these programs not in English, but in the Sinhala/Tamil for the information all the citizen of the country or else try to give the subtitles of it please. Secondly Harsha is quick to point out that when the imf agreement(signed without reference to parliament) was tabled for approval that the NPP was against it and that he was for it, when in reality his party abstained from voting. Few people here are criticizing Dr Harshana Suriyapperuma. For the concern of those people! Dr Harshana Suriyapperuma is also a well qualified person. He also has an working experience as the Director of Corporate Affairs & Supervision in Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka! Hope this will be enough for the people who are questioning about his academic and professional qualifications. Yeah he was telling some bitter truth of the former governments. It has to be told in this occasion. Because the current crisis has occurred mainly because of the (past and present) corrupted political leadership! Also most of us have now forgotten the main scope of our Aragalaya! It was mainly nourished by the idea of standing against the corruption. But now few of us are still supporting to the rulers who are surrounded by the corruptive politicians. This is not the time to lead our life by adjusting and evolving with the corruption. We all should have a strong backbone to stand against this corruptive political culture. We all must remember one thing. NPP leadership is not like the former President. They are very well aware of their duties and responsibilities. The leadership won't seek counsel with irrelevant people to take decisions on important sectors in the state. Such as agriculture, economy etc..! That's the difference we see in NPP when compared with other former governing parties. They have a proper plan to execute. I also respect few politicians in other parties in SL, who are really cared to develop this country. I hope they will too contribute for the wellbeing of this country irrespective of their political camp! We strongly believe in NPP!

If NPP propose a new DSA, it may take another 6 months IMF agreement, 6 months for implementing (only if everything goes well as predicted), until that time what should be NPP 's backup plan to manage crisis? Because As I perceive, we have to go for New IMF program with rejecting prevailing DSA. It's true NPP has good policy to repair current political system from grass root level. But, people can't suffer further burden. Therefore, it's recommend to consider hybrid plan than attempting new DSA.
