Watching all these event of questioning people I can see how useless our US Congress is.
@lawrencequave7361 Жыл бұрын
Your point that Congressional investigations are useless is spot on, but let me (as a non-lawyer) explain why that's so. The Attorney General is the leader of the Department of Justice, whose job it is to enforce Federal law. The AG is appointed by the President with the consent of the Senate. The FBI is the principal investigative arm of the DoJ. The AG is supposed to enforce Federal law fairly (according to the guidelines of the Constitution) without political prejudice. So much for how the system is SUPPOSED to work. In REALITY, the AG takes his marching orders from the top leaders of the President's political party, who effectively decide who will or will not get prosecuted. The AG can only be relieved of his duties by the President or by impeachment which requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate. Bottom line: Government corruption and incompetence can only be gotten rid of by the direct vote of the American voters. But if half of the American people are just plain stupid as they have demonstrated themselves to be time after time over the past many years, you'll never get rid of the injustice brought about by our so-called two-tiered justice system. And that's why America is the way it is now, and I hold no hope for it ever changing. Now, the short answer: "Wanna get rid of corruption? Then the CITIZENS have to vote out the ones who are corrupt ... and they WON'T do it".
@benjaminshropshire2900 Жыл бұрын
@@lawrencequave7361 Your not wrong, but I don't think that was the point the OP was getting at. I'm a retired consulting engineer, licensed by the state where I worked for forty years in energy conservation in very large real estate. Over a 15-year period my team reduced an international airport's total energy consumption by 40%, spending $4million per year on public bids with a consistent 14% ROI. At the end of that 15-year run, the airport's new management shifted its focus to a "sustainable" program, installed a vast solar photovoltaic (PV) array and virtually stopped conserving energy. While I was privy to the data the array's own computers never managed to report the array's energy performance, but the airport's electrical bills remained essentially constant. Further, by the manufacturer's own data, there is no ROI on solar PV because the solar panels will reach the end of their productive lives before their energy cost savings can offset their actual unsubsidized installed cost, and none of these dismal economic data even account for significant increases in maintenance cost for a solar array bolted to acres and acres of roof. @kpetalis Жыл бұрын
@@steveb796 Actually it is. The carbon emission by all the plants in China and other countries that make those renewable energy tools is enough to make the use of those renewable turbines useless in the long run . Did you know that Germany that closed all it's nuclear plants and fossil fuel plants and tried to use only renewable energy now has an energy deficiency and is forced to buy energy from it's neighbors? Not only that but they were forced to open older coal based power plants in order to produce the energy they needed. Even though they demanded that other European countries would close their own factories... Renewable energy production is not easy and it does not have a high performance efficiency, about 40% if I'm not mistaken. That means that the deficiency must be covered in other ways. And how do we do that. Easy, we buy the energy we need from others who don't use clean energy production technics. And the cycle never ends. Also, the wind Turbines are responsible for the destructions of the environment in the area in which they are placed. Wind parks are enormous and usually they are placed in deforested areas. You get the picture right? And solar panels? The chemicals used in them are rare, difficult to mine and are not recyclable. Not because it is impossible to do so, but because it is so damn costly. If the process is not mandated and state funded, no manufacturer or company in general will do so because it is not profitable, in fact it is a loss for them.
