The economy is weak despite high job numbers because many new jobs are low-wage or part-time, and wage growth has not kept pace with inflation. Rising costs of living, a shrinking labor force, and the concentration of economic gains in large corporations further undermine the overall economic strength, even if employment numbers are high.
