Most humble and knowledgeable person I have ever met. ... He's trying his best to make this youth a little more responsible and experienced.

Response reduction factore reduces shear demand and increase ductility demand, thus more inelastic damage and increase repair cost even moderate earthquake, designer and client should consider life cycle cost of building, prefer less reduction factor because structural cost of building now days only 20-30% of overall cost of building, designing higher load will give better performance in life cycle performance and intial cost will increase only 5-8% .

in building with basement we can consider time period for building depending on its height from ground level to top level (for static analysis) but when we go for response spectrum how can we define height of building....??? because when we use scale factor it will be from base shear. If we cant have same height considerations for both method (response spectrum and static earthquake) how can think of applying scale factor for same getting same base shear.... base shear because of static earthquake will be (theoretically) because of lateral load from GL to top but base shear because of response spectrum will for entire building height.... please help sir....!!

It is said that structural Fundamentals knowledge it means that there is no full fledged exaplation about structural engineering course but it requires in depth knowledge to design buildings, flyovers, culverts know

Sir can you explain what's difference between bending moment and deflection.
@ilustraca2 жыл бұрын
deflection is the behaviour under loading, moment is the resistance to that behaviour.

Hi Sir! I am from Pakistan. I am very interested this course. But I am Confused a little bit about this course. If you don't mind, A lot of my friends and teachers told me like that if you done this degree. The Pakistani government will not accepted because the current situation India and Pakistan are not good. Plz tell me. My Conscion has not accepted these things. Please give me a good suggestion. Its depends upon my future. When anyone's read my l plz reply. I am hurry mood. Therfore this degree acceptable I want to take admission

At 18:03 you said Gravitational Acceleration would be comparatively higher during ground motion; it seems you are changing the laws of Physics... Gravitational acceleration can't change on earth surface at any point. It is the same at any point of earth surface. And spectral acceleration is basically the maximum acceleration in an earthquake on a damped, harmonic oscillator moving in a physical dimension.... Lakhs of students follow you so plz do not give such blunder information.

Gravitational acceleration on earth never changes and one will never experience change in it during seismic activity also. If anything changes is the gravitational force that too with change in height. The spectral acceleration you are talking about is the response acceleration from a single degree of freedom system. And taking such responses of various SDOF systems of different time period the Response spectra is being generated. The force that structure experience is the inertial at story masses due to ground motion i.e. movement of earth surface. Sir people you're teaching are not layman but engineers and if they can't understand inertial force then it is a question of their competency. Knowing few tools and values to input can't make one an engineer I believe. I have no further doubt. Thank you for your response, though I haven't found any logic in it.
