I just bought this product; it arrived last night and I used it today. it is fantastic! I use it with AG Recoil and this is the best hair day I've had yet. Of course, I've only been doing this for about 5 weeks, so maybe that isn't saying much. But I was beginning to get seriously depressed about crappy looking hair! I would never have been able to get to this point without watching your videos. Thank you so much for making them and sharing your tips and tricks. And keep them coming, please!!!

Good review! I have fine 2A/2B hair and this product has turned out to be my Holy Grail. I discovered it 5 weeks in to CGM when I was about ready to give up, and it gave me some big bouncy curls for the first time. I was shocked how my hair turned out that way! Big turning point for me. My hair is about your length and I use 2 pumps per side (4 total) with about 4 drops per side of Sally's Neutral Protein Filler drops added in. I've been experimenting with what product to layer it with since I almost never use just one styler. My hair's not as prone to over-moisturization (is that a word? ;))) though.

This completely made my hair flat but I tried mixing it with some protein heavy products and it definitely helped. I love how easily my hair detangles in the shower after using this... even on day 3 or 4! So much less shedding than I would normally have.

I know the marshmallow extract is very moisturizing as well, because it is a demulcent and provides great slip...probabaly adding to the thick consistency. I have purchased OM a bit ago and it has shipped! So excited to try this product out in my hair! Looking forward to the powerful hold and moisture! Thanks for your tips!!!

I wonder if you would benefit from adding in those neutral protein filler drops from Sally's? Too bad it doesn't smell super orange-y. I kinda wanted to walk around smelling like a creamsicle! Lol

Heather Ledbetter I’m sure the protein filler would help! But the Sally’s near me doesn’t carry it and I just haven’t ordered it yet! This stuff does smell delightful though. Even if it’s not majorly orangey.

@@longyarn4288 The scent really is negligible. I have a nose that would make Chuck Norris jealous, and I can only smell the slightest hint of orange. If I didn't know that there was orange oil in it, I wouldn't guess what the scent is.

I ordered it, have used it twice. I don't get hardly any hold and makes my baby fine hair very limp and lose all its curl. What am I doing wrong?

I'm so bummed cause this product looked so holy grail natural. But when I put this stuff in my hair it looked like I was a thinning hair wreck. I have hereditarily thinner hair anyways, so to have it on show for everyone hurt my curly ego bad lol. But it weighed down my curls bad and didn't give me any volume. I'm going to try it different ways, maybe a tiny tiny bit but with my bounce curls light creme gel. I definitely need protein ingredients. If you haven't tried it yet, bounce curl's light creme gel is my god send. I've tried this marmalade, blueberry Bliss gel, and uncle funkys curly magic and none have met the luxurious volume and curls/ringlets bounce curls has given me!!!! But also my hair is thin as heck, overloads easily and I can't handle a lot of products in one go haha.

I've been wanting to try this product, but I've learned that my hair is sensitive to aloe vera juice, so I'm worried it might not like this gel very much. Did you experience any flash drying or other negative side effects of the aloe vera in this product?

Beckah Cruz well that is tricky. My fave protein with gel is Bounce curl light cream gel. But I tend to put a strong hold gel on top of it. I have heard good things about the blueberry bliss gel but haven’t tried it personally yet. It has a good amount of protein in it.

Salli Awad I haven’t found a protein heavy leave in strong enough to offset how moisturizing this product is yet for my hair. I have tried the curls blueberry bliss leave in and it works fairly well. But in order to get this product to work I have to do a gelatin treatment before hand. It’s just so moisturizing!

Thanks for the review. I'm wondering if the marshmallow root extract is the very moisturizing ingredient? I use KK Knot Today when my hair is a bit tangly and it's super moisturizing. It has marshmallow extract too. Have you tried JC Spiralicious? I use that and quite like it, but I'm eyeballing the OM.

Liz Lemon my hair really seems to love the Kinky Curly Curling Custard which has quite a bit of the marshmallow root extra in it as well. I do think it is a very moisturizing ingredient!

Marshmallow root does produce slime like flaxseed when boiled but I think it's effect is twofold both moisture and hold. I haven't made my own DIY flaxseed gel yet but I'll be trying it both with marshmallow root and without, after seeing this. Thanks! 👍👍

I.am a product.junkie.too! You should.seey shower lol. I.only purchased the hot sauce! I'm not.much of.a gell person..but.you make.me want to.try this. When I bought the hotsauce I opened and smelled.it... you can smell the castor oil lol, this is the most natural scent I have ever smelled!! Most.products products claim.they are 100.percent.natural!!.this line seems like.the real.deal!

That is a very good question! In my protein products video I talk about what I do in order to tell what my hair needs. Another way to test is to do a stretch test.

Nikki Driessen as you may have picked up from the video this gel was way too moisturizing for my hair. Sad but true. I had to balance this product with so much protein that it wasn’t a good fit for me to use long term. I actually have it to my sister who has much coarser curlier hair than I do and she freaking loves it! To refresh’s with it all she does it to a a small amount of gel and water to her hands, and apply to her hair using praying hand and scrunching. She then air dried and curl clumps come back and frizz is minimized. It works great for her hair type!

Kiera Frost it’s back and forth for me! I love it but it doesn’t play nice with everything. Still trying to find the perfect combo. The best I’ve done so far is Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Yogurt leave in, Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic, and Orange Marmalade! Keep your hair soaking wet during application for suuuuuuure

The gel is a hard hold gel and it contains no drying alcohols in it. I do not find it drying on my hair, however, other people have said they feel it is drying on their hair. If you feel like it is drying use a bit more leave in with it.
