EcoStruxure Machine Expert Training - M6.2 Firmware via SD Card for M262
The software to program the Modicon M241, M251, M258, M262 and PacDrive MotionController is EcoStruxure Machine Expert (former SoMachine / SoMachine Motion).
For the Modicon M258 the version required to use the software is the EcoStruxure Machine Expert v1.2.x.
The version of EcoStruxure Machine Expert v2.x does not include the M258 in the hardware list.
In order to install this software you need to download "Schneider Electric Software Installer" from the next link:

Then you should be able to install EcoStruxure Machine Expert.
The software EcoStruxure Machine Expert has a Free version after the 42 days trial, please check pages 14 and 16 for more information for the free version limitations:

The user that wants to use this software needs to have an account in our License Portal in order to register the software:

In the past the software was SoMachine and the latest version of this software was the SoMachine V4.3 SP2.
The reference for SoMachine is the SOMNACS43:

The firmware version of the Modicon M241, M251 and M258 for PLC programmed in SoMachine starts in v4.x.x.x and in Machine expert it starts in v5.x.x.x.
In order to program the Modicon M241, M251, M258, M262 you can use a miniUSB cable (TCSXCNAMUM3P or BMXXCAUSBH018) , SD Card (not M258 this one use pen drive) or an ethernet cable (depend on the version).

Hi! I install the mechine expert in the hyper-V,and I tried to wirite the firmware into my SD card. What can I do,if the controller assistant cant not find my SD card?

Hi there! I am not using hyperV vm but try to create a partition disk and that will help you to find it on the controller assistant.

Hola. Una consulta. Por primera vez quiero ingresar a un PLC M262. (nuevo) desde Eco Struxure Machine Expert V2.1. Me solicita nombre de usuario y contraseña. Yo utilizo Aministrator / Administrator , pero no puedo tener acceso. Como puedo hacer para poder ingresar?. Gracias. Ignacio desde Argentina.

Buenas Ignacio! el Administrator/Administrator solo funciona con el firmware del PLC cuando se usa el Machine Expert v1.2.x . Te aconsejo usar la descarga del firmware como muestro en el video para resetear el usuario actual y poder generar uno nuevo.

Te agradezco tu respuesta@@LeTomasAHUMADA, ya pude volver a fábrica el control utilizando la Tarjeta SD. Pude loguearme En este caso tengo el M262 y una Harmony ST6700. Logré comunicarlos por Modbus (registros 40000+i), pero la pantalla tiene enlace de simbolos en otro formato. Se me hace muy tedioso cargar todos los tags uno x uno desde Terminal Expert Basic El Machine expert genera .gvl y no puedo importar los tags de red desde el Terminal Expert Basic Bueno, te mando un cordial saludo. how to upload program when pasward forgot .

If you forgot the password of the controller then you will not able to connect to upload the .project from the controller using MachineExpert or even using a ftp client because you must use credentials to connect. In order to use again the controller a firmware download using only sd card is mandatory.
