i've got a barrel composter already made. you can have it if you want. it's on a steel center rod mounted up on a frame. also, it sucks, because you fill it up in about 20 minutes of yard work and it takes a year or more to get dirt out of it.

How well did it work? Would you make any improvements? How many days did it take to make compost?

Any idea if this would work for a plastic 55 gallon drum?
@chrisl76084 жыл бұрын
You are a genius. That's a super simple design that gets the job done. Thanks for the idea. How hot did you get your compost and do you think it was okay without the extra holes?

should mount some blocks or like cup things on the inside to help mix an turn the compost.

Great video...It has been over 3 years since you made the steel barrel compost tumbler - 1. how has it held up? and 2. what would you do to improve it? Thank you.

I gave this compost tumbler away a couple of years ago, but it was still working when I saw it in 2015. If I were to make another, I would make the door larger, and I would use a plastic barrel. I only had a steel barrel, so that's what I used on this one.

won't it rust into the compost material

With what and how did you cut the rectangular opening on the drum bin?
@EcoTechnify8 жыл бұрын
I marked the rectangle to cut first, then I cut it out with an angle grinder with a cutting wheel on it.
