Deb has more than 30 years' experience in working with children and families in a range of early educational settings, schools and tertiary and community training institutions; and Aboriginal community programs. Her passion and commitment have enabled her to advocate for children and families that do not enjoy the same privliges as the majority of Australian people.
She worked with local communities to develop programs that enhance oppurtunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children, to access and sustain early education placements, school success and adult educations. She is proactive in seeking employment oppurtunities for Aboriginal people in education and in mainstream corporations and the broader community sector.
She continues to work with local communtiies to develop and deliver local and contextual Aboriginal cultural training to non-Aboriginal people at local, national and international events. In her current work she is discovering continued exclusion and eugenic policies that are systematically excluding Aboriginal participation and success.
