I always knew someone would confuse green water with black water someday, didn’t think that’s what would kill Johnny Cuba. At least Allen was avenged, and we know indeed that he and Peter were separate characters built one week apart from each other. It’s also insane how Cuba was born from a satanic ritual as the epilogue implied, though this time no one will ever know compared to the previous SCPs active in modern day (the Path of The Dead bringing back Dominick, Proteus looking out for Stanley, and the Nartwin tribe/pack rampaging on the Skarloey Railway). That makes it different from the other episodes because it already happened in the past, with no engine like Cuba ever coming up again.

Oh boy, what an episode! It turns out Peter really did have a brother named Alan, so we know that he was telling the truth in "Return". But most importantly, we now know the full backstory of Johnny Cuba and how his powers work - derailment is his kryptonite, you could say. I was expecting him to be placed under maximum security by the Foundation, but it turns out they killed him by accident! That was a big shock.
@Xalerdane Жыл бұрын
Yeah, by ‘accident’.

NOTE: My thoughts here will contain some spoilers so if you haven’t watch the whole episode, please make sure you do before commenting. Oh boy, next to The Lucky Lamp, Jonny Cuba was the most I was looking forward to about this whole series. There's lots of information to pack in here. So first some last names popping up. Oliver Carter, Toad O'Neil and an Agent Lang (which I'll get to later). Nice to know more of the engine's and rolling stock's first name but still makes me curious to know Edward's full name. Interesting to see that Oliver and Toad were temporally part of the task force during the war. It's nice to see a bit of their backstory and a true explaination into what they were doing. The scene after that gives us much more information about Jonny Cuba. It's not just telekinesis he can do, he can also telport which explains how he can easily move from country to country. Also that he can't use his powers when derailed but most interestingly is that he can be summoned, through a human sacrifice. WOW! No words at all. I'm flabbergasted. The last scene at the end that showed how he was created also flabbergasted me too. It does fit for the SCPs of Sodor though given how popular rituals are within the world of SCPs so kudos on that. Love seeing more of Agent Potter and Dr. Pierce. Dr. Pierce here was great, I love his character. Not much to say about them though. So it turns out that Alan was really Peter's brother. I expected that, I couldn't imagine Peter being part of the foundation. Just like with Dr. Pierce, I like his character here but it's sad to see his death. Turned out that Jonny Cuba did really took out an 8F and that was Alan. It's nice to know that Sir Topham did research on the matter in the end. Finally, so it's confirmed that Jonny Cuba was terminated by The SCP... on accidental terms. I know with Adam, his death was much more peaceful but Cuba's insides just exploded. That jumpscared me when I heard that bang. Honestly, glad he's gone. At least there's not going to be anymore heists coming from that supernatural being. Oh and it turns out the SCP manufactured green and black water. That personally raises a lot more questions to how and why they made it. Would it be due to figuring out how the non-faceless ran and to discover why they become sentient? Guess we'll never know. Overall, this was certainly interesting, more interesting that The Lucky Lamp episode. I say this is my favourite episode of the bunch. It expands more into who Cuba was, it explains more about his powers, how he came to be and it gives an answer into the 8F that Cuba managed to took out and what exactly happened to him in the end. Wow! Just wow! Amazing episode, Victor! Great job! Looking forward to seeing the last episode of the series, next week!

The idea that the Foundation is the one that produces green and black water kinda explains my first thoughts about how they managed to give amnestics to Duncan. Almost makes me wonder if non-faceless engines as a whole are an SCP that they failed to contai, or possibly even created. Wouldn't be the first time the Foundation covered something up so thoroughly that a generation or two later, they're having to investigate themselves.

Wow, this episode was quite interesting! Firstly, Johnny Cuba: I liked his origin and his lifestory. On one side, his required payment and his violent actions against the foundation was surprising. On the other side, he had a unique style and interactions. About Alan, it was good to see that his personality was similar to Peter's: his strength and desperation to finish the missions, just like Peter with his jobs was a standalone. His death was brute and shocking, sad that we don't get more of him. If you think about it, both engines are quite rellentless: Alan because of his missions and Cuba due to his services. Finally, I just realised that if sacrifices are necessary to make a pact with him, than his stories can also be true. Even if you kill a loved one, it doesn't mean that you can ask him for stealing, it can also be the Poland rescue mission, which he mentioned back in Sodor or the Baldbrick reconstruction.

Dare I say, the ending really was like something out of Halloween. Happy Early Halloween everyone!

You think Johnny Cuba is dead? Guys, you gotta realize that even DEATH can't hold Johnny Cuba!

For some reason, I’m starting to think Dr. Pierce might be an SCP himself and keeps himself so distanced emotionally from everything because his SCP abilities will come out if he feels emotion.

If you think this is bad it's nothing to the likes of scp 682 and 106 they kill for fun and love taking their time to murder anyone they can find pierce has most likely seen stuff like this if you make it this far working for the foundation you see death everyday and he has made it this far

Poor Bowler is in for a shock. Hmm I had suspected that Johnny Cuba was much more capable and isn't infallible.

If Murdoch was built three-ish years before all the other 9Fs, I think it's safe to say Cuba is also a prototype

I think the people who created Johnny were part of the Chaos Insurgency.

I feel like this is the funniest but also one of the most tragic, with all of those people used to summon Cuba, Alan and Peter never meeting, that's horrible. But Johnny's answers to Piercer's questions in the first half were really funny. Cuba's basically a ritual summon via sacrifice, and that is not nice, but it explains how he gets about. A bit worrying a bunch of fools could let alone just make their own non-faceless engine, but their own supernatural Cuthbert class, as I call it. Also pretty silly move by the Foundation with Cuba and the 'green water'. Also, I'd like to imagine the police engines that look like Thomas and Percy are two of a few built with the original's blueprints and plans, but for what reason, we can't know. For now...? I imagine the 1400 is just a Great Western engine taken in by the Railway Inspectors Unit. Little headcanons for returning characters.

Did that tank engine who was running straight into Johnny Cuba really think he was gonna do anything?
@alexandergonyea46422 жыл бұрын
Boy, as if Johnny Cuba couldn't be any more foul than he was before, this episode truly showed that he could. Both from the ritual that created him and the one responsible for summoning him for jobs, and his lack of any remorse from outright murdering Allen, it just goes to make him that much more of a deplorable creature. And honestly, it makes me glad the Foundation screwed up and took him out. As the saying goes, good riddance to bad rubbish.

I get the feeling that the SCP don't know what the Foundation is planning. And the more that I think of it. The more I believe that Torchwood is behind the skulduggery! Johnny Cuba will live again and perhaps it's not the last time we come across him again.
