Unlike windmills Uranium and especially The s*** they use for batteries. Oil is actually better than anything that we have right now if you will truly looking into it. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions", the saying goes, but often it is worse. People deliberately choose to pander to their ego, rejecting dissonant information. Thus one of my spiritual teaching mantras: *Corruption is a grassroots movement.* The lesson is to actually care for truth, do the homework, walk the extra mile, because any lie can make itself appear like truth and attempts to. For example, true environmentalists, the oldschool if you will, have long ago understood and practiced the value of driving your car until it is no longer roadworthy. They understood the capitalist dictate of perpetual growth and rampant consumption. With people rejecting traditional religion in a self-image of intellectual superiority and then soothing the spiritual crisis with modern replacement religion like warmism, they are basically practicing a contemporary version of selling of indulgences: They give money to their church and receive sin forgiveness services in return. (The carbon credit scheme is a blatantly obvious example.)

Man, capitalism needs to end immediately. It's awesome to see a beautiful people are standing up defending their land right. If anything, it should be the people who live there who should be educated about the potential riches of their land(if they don't know it already) and decide what they are to do with it themselves with their own business. It's the citizen's companies who should be selling their own products, not some western company. Who the heck are those foreigners to infringe on the native peoples' property. Whoever's in charge of this needs to be held accountable!

Very good or else excellent documentary, Max. I wish these indigenous people success but wonder what chance they have to win their battle, with capitalism being extremely rapacious. You said that this video is the third part, so I searched for the first two and it seems to be these : Part 1, " _*The Grayzone meets Ecuador's indigenous resistance* _ " (19:32), The Grayzone, published (here) 9 months ago, kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJSwnKWjaraYpc0 ; Part 2, " *_Ecuador's resistance confronts multinational mining monster_* " (39:39), TheGrayzone, published (here) 7 months ago, kzbin.info/www/bejne/ommrnmNmerNqjtE. This reminds me of another disgusting Canadian mining corporation, Gold Corp., its gold mining operations in Peru and causing great environmental harm. I believe that the video I listened to about that situation was during the 2000s, I think during the second half of the 2000s. The environmental harm was bad for, both, the natural environment and also human health. Bloody rapacious capitalistic practices! EDIT : I have now listened to the first two parts and the whole documentary is excellent.

While mines do a lot of damage, it's up to national governments to enforce mine cleanup. A lot bigger than any of these mines is the amount of the Amazon lost to soy production. The US could become a global leader in hemp (which produces more food than millions of acres of crops it can replace; corn ethanol, cotton, soy) and try to get Brazil to clear less forest for beef cattle and their soy-based feed. This could save 100x the footprints of these mines and build up soils globally, because the US enforces a global hemp ban.

Vilifying mining companies is not the answer. It is the government that is at fault here. Canada has lots of mining happening and the environment is not being destroyed because the mining legislation protects the environment and often enriches the lives of aboriginal communities.
