My wife and I have taken several motorcycle trips in Ecuador over the past few years. Last summer was our last trip. We went up north than to the coast. It was sketchy to say the least. We had actually considered buying a home somewhere in Ecuador. We did a deep dive into researching different areas. Well, it's over, I'm keeping our asses in new Hampshire. I am originally from Ecuador and have lived in the United States for 36 years. I purchased an apartment in Quito, and I have not been able to go due to COVID restrictions and now the gang/cartel activities. I hope to retire there at 55. Quito is known for its rich cultural heritage and historic center. I love the colonial architecture, churches, and museums that showcase Ecuador's history and art. I hope the country recovers soon from the criminal activity.

I believe a flight to Florida is in the works. But if you fly to NYC it is only 8.5 hours there and 9.5 hours return.

Hi, Don. First off, you're on the nose with the corporate greed thing in the U.S. I've been following Ecuador quite closely as well trying to gather as much info as I can. Very proud of President Neboa. He has acted strongly in a trial by fire situation write out the gate which is quite reminiscent of Ukraine's president. Delightful news of the birth of his child. I'm down here in Tucson right now and it's raining down here too. Best to you, enjoy yourself, and thank you for the updates. Just make sure you have some fun and relax while you're up here. Mr. Don I agree there may be some corporate greed but the greediest of all is the government. I live in California and if gas were free it would still be 2$ a gal. The government does not invest anything and always is ready to bend you over without even a kiss. Take care!

last I checked California roads were ranked 45 in the U.S. They must be using the money to give illegal migrants health care While citizens like me pay about 1K. per month for very little coverage.@@jamesmcdonough2726

I lived in the SF Bay Area for 10 years and remember considerable government investment in CalTrain, BART, and ACE Rail, and I was grateful for them. I wish we had California's mandatory vehicle emissions standards here in Florida. We have no state income tax, but we're getting crushed by homeowners insurance rates and industrial pollution. Book bans and fundamentalism are causing many educators to retire early or leave the state entirely. If my wife and I could afford to go back to the Bay Area, we would gladly do it.

If you lived in California you know we have book bans here as well. I don't know how long it's been since you left California in some places it is very bad a few months ago I went to S.F. It was sad reminded me of an old T.V. commercial with a Native American looks at pollution and a tear comes from his eye. Unfortunately insurance is going up in Cali. as well, mine doubled and coverage went done think that happening all over the country. I think the older I get the wisdom I see in our 40 president saying the scariest words in the English language are "I'm from government and we are here to help" I will more than likely leave Cali. feet first. It is really sad in my opinion Cali is one of the most beautiful state and they keep running it down the toilet. Hope you are enjoying your life in Florida. Don, yes they were found in Cordoba, a city about in the middle of the country. A kind of low profile place, perhaps was one reason why they exiled there.

From Manta , life is Normal. we did not have any problems in Manta.only from 11 pm till 5 am , which is great to have quiet nights and no laoud music.😂.

Thank you for providing authentic content regarding the situation in Ecuador. My girlfriend has her visa interview next week in Guayaquil. I heard that on average 200-300 people a day have interviews. Some are receiving emails that their date was pushed back two months. Do you know the status of Ecuadorian citizens applying for tourist visa’s and the extent of any backlogs? Thank you

Copa flights Manta to Panama City are on Tues, Fri and Sun. Some time in March they will add a Weds flight.

Don, take your Camera to Central City, Valeen, or Encanto areas in Pheonix, and show us how safe it is there! Watch out for the Gang and Drug Cartel activity while there. Do it at night. On a side note, I agree with your comment on Corporate Profits. I can tell you 100% that a good percentage of inflation is profits, not material costs etc. I was in Senior Management at a fortune 500 company, and I trade stocks for part of my income. I see the record profits coming in with Earnings reports on a daily basis.

Excellent video! I enjoy watching these because I shook my head when expats bragged about buying real estate in Ecuador and Ukraine. With rents so cheap, I honestly don't get that. People not listening, making facts up or saying that facts are optional - you obviously haven't lived in the US these past few years!
