omfg i finally got it. really clears it up when you get rid of all the calculations and just explain how to do it.

you really saved me, I have a final exam tomorrow and I really didn't know what to do to solve problems of that type. thanks a lot.

Finally some explanation! I picked up more in this video than I did in an entire 1.5 hour lecture

best example i've seen so far. I was really hung up on finding internal moments but it seems to make a lot of sense now. Thank you very much!

When should we use negative/positive in symmetric cross section? (+- M.c/I)
@darkvanilla
@darkvanilla 9 жыл бұрын
+Shafira Anindita + is the typical convention for positive bending (tensile) and - is the typical convention for negative bending (compression).

Where did the 300lb and 900lb came from? I am not into math really but in our given math problem it is the same in this illustration but different in values and there is no 300lb and 900lb. Can I ask how to get that?

Would the minimum tensile and compressive stresses on the beam be where the moment is zero?

how you find the neutral axis value was it like this? NA= Summation of Y(A)/ summation of A ? and how to know whether the sign will be negative or positive? was it below and upper basis of the neutral axis, im not confuse just clarifying things tnx u,

why is the overhung part doesn't have unit weight?
@ECUSW
@ECUSW 4 жыл бұрын
The distributed load was intended to be an applied load, not the weight of the beam itself. In this case, we are assuming that the beam's weight is negligible compared to the applied loads, and so is ignored.

how did you get c= 4in???
@jadonclifton
@jadonclifton 7 жыл бұрын
c=4 is distance from neutral axis to highest stress. see 0:25 for cross-section view.

What does using imperial units have to do with being civilized? Who is more civilized, the person ranting about something they do not like for no other reason than their personal taste, or the person who spent the time to develop this video to help people out with some clarity?
