Great video! Good looking jacket. I'm not a veteran, but I do thank all vets for their service to our country. I worked for the Forest Service when I was in college, and some of our gear was military in origin and was of good quality. I still have an Alice pack I was issued as a fire pack. Hard to beat some of the military gear.

I was an E&E troop at Tinker on the E3's when I got my first Gore-Tex's. Actually took me a bit to get used to them. I was so used to my field jacket. After I did I fell in love with the stuff. Loved how it blocked the wind on the line at Tinker and came in real handy on those cold wet days working the line in Spangdahlem Germany. Still have a couple of jackets and of course a couple of field jackets that I manage to snag when I retired. 10:35

Kinda miss those days in a way. Still feels like home when I drive on a base. Not the same AF anymore though. Thanks for the great comment brother!

I was in the army from 1980 to 2003 and saw many uniform changes. What I do not miss is the Mickey Mouse boots. They sucked. We used to scotch-guard our field jackets.

$500 a set when I was in. Only really issued to line units and maybe some artillery. If you wanted it, you paid for it. Hard pill to swallow when you only cleared $921 a month as a young non-rate.

Great video! I was issued the green camo Gore-Tex like you have, and later issued a new ABU Gore-Tex coat & pants. They’ve got a zip-up Polartec to wear under the jacket. I gave my old green camo Gore-Tex to my Dad. He loves it! I still wear my ABU Gore-Tex stuff on occasion.

Plattsburgh AFB was great. I was there from 79 to 82. My office at the hospital was nice and warm.

Lol. I got there in 86. I visited in 2016 and my old aircraft maintenance shop was still there. The door was opened and got to see my office again. Some of my old equipment was still there, half packed but just left there. The town was using the building to park vehicles. The base closed in '97 I believe.

Great video. Thanks a ton for giving your opinion on the jacket. I really love this jacket and think it's better than the main commercial brands such as Patagonia, Columbia, or The North Face. Mine is sadly damaged and I need to replace it. Awesome review. Keep the nice content coming.

My dad got mine from some random dead guy's wife for free. (May he rest in peace.) Didn't know about the inside pockets until I watched this video! Also: Are the buttons & velcro on the inside of the hood for the cap piece? Mine didn't come with that, sadly.
@CommonCentsOutdoorsman5 күн бұрын
Cool. There is fuzzy hood trim that attaches there.

Austrian army took differemt approach. They made best ever M65 with goretex with polycottonn rugged outer shield and thin polyester liner inside. Österreich Bundesheer M65. It can be find new unissued for under $80. It looks way much better.
