The snow is finally gone and spring is just around the corner. Temps are above 32 degrees...it's time to get out to our "go to" spot and have a run. Good run with the Temper!
Upgrades to the Temper over the last year...
19 mm wheel wideners
aluminum knuckles/c-hubs
Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires (1.9's)
Axial 8-hole beadlock wheels
Upgraded waterproof Hobbico ESC
Spectrum receiver
Weighted front wheels
changed oil in shocks (30 weight)
use 1/2 inch shock spacers (electrical tape cut to size) to combat torque twist
few minor body mods
added some additional lead weight down low for stability
battery forward mod
moved new ESC lower on the mounting plate
Hope you enjoy the vid!

Yeah, this is more of a traditional or purpose built crawler. It's a little different than a "Scaler" that can crawl. Thanks for having a look!

CRAZY cool looking Rig!! SERIOUS articulation too. I just found out - that's only 1/18th Scale?? 😲 That's quite a little Beast! I didn't realize I hadn't subbed you yet. Fixed that! ~ Carmine
@2krcbackroads421
@2krcbackroads421 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Carmine, really appreciate that! It's a 1/18 scale out of the box, but I installed 19 mm wheel wideners which push the wheels out making it as wide as a 1/10 scale rig. Thanks for havin' a look and for the sub!!
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks 7 жыл бұрын
Now THERE'S an idea I never would have thought of!!! AWESOME! Push the wheels out, bigger tires, and maybe a CJ, Samurai or other 1/10th Scale mini body, and I'll have a much less expensive Crawler Rig!! Thank you so much for that. Don't those have tiny motors, like a 380 or even 280?? ~ Carmine
@2krcbackroads421
@2krcbackroads421 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they run on a tiny ~370 size motor...TONS of torque. CJ body would be very cool!!

Joe Conti RC Yeah. Sorry, I misread your question...ha ha. I thought you said "how much". Yes, the wideners do help. The wheel wideners and tires were the best upgrades on this rig. The wideners made the rig more stable...

Where did you find your ESC? And does it have a voltage cut-off for LiPo batteries? Are you still running the stock batt?
@2krcbackroads421
@2krcbackroads421 7 жыл бұрын
It's a Hobbico ESC...cheap ($19). Not sure on a LiPo cut-off as I run NiMH in all my rigs. I'll check and let you know...
