Sir isn't 53 suppose to reduce by 1 , please explain further I will appreciate if kindly reply immediately

The 53 does not reduce because during beta decay a neutron is converted to a proton and because of this the number of protons (atomic number) increases but the mass number remains the same cause what is lost in neutron is gained in protons. For the negative 1 on e means a loss in mass of almost 1amu. Remember the mass of a proton is 1 but an election has a mass of 1/1849 which is almost zero (0)
