Found this amazing planet with blue atmosphere in a populated system.

The devs couldnt even add liquids to planets , like ammonia or water...

Ah, but that would have to heavy of an atmosphere and you would not be able to land on it, they are going for realism here

@@CMDR-7652 Earth has water, and we land re-entry vessels safe and sound here. Surely a futuristic spaceship - with plenty of fuel to break down the speed - would have no problem doing this much smoother than what we do today. Still, i enjoyed Horizons even without water, so i think maybe some people can benefit from lowering their hopes and expectations a bit... Sure some bugs were pretty bad, but last time i checked, people said it was much better now... Considering that the developers have had to deal with lost income due to really bad PR, i think its ok to show some understanding and support in this initial phase... Its not uncommon with bugs in big updates, and people complaining about the time it takes for an update to come out, will pressure the developers to release the game "prematurely"...

Not all atmoshperic worlds are landable. If there's a blue half circle around a planet that means It's landable.

Some places with thicker atmospheres aren’t landable yet. They’re starting by giving us the tenuous ones first, I’m pretty sure they will add thicker and thicker ones into the future.

@@sffgvcb1 What blows my mind is how well the clouds with thunder are in space.. The thick atmos you can find videos of on youtube, where people landed on a planet in such instances were they spotted in horizons and on odyssey an ice world with water atmosphere that was so hazy that you couldn't see past 20 meters... The dust effects on the surface.. Why is it so hard to just put it in a skybox? I'm not even asking for volumetric, although I'm not sure if the space clouds are volumetric.

Tell me if i'm wrong, but this game seems to be unfortunately very repetitive in term of planet explorations : Always the same type of environnements with craters & mountains... No vegetation, no water or anything, comparing the star citizen that has a rich biome environnements

i played star citizen a long time.. i loved it. but update with update it gets worse and worse.. after 1 year of break i hoped of some kind of change but. no... i ran a few mission. but one time it chrashes.. no reason.. or you get stuck or cant drop off deliverys... and i have to be honest 200 $for a ship. no way. after that i was looking for another space game and come to ED. i was flashed... it runs..... its not that interactive like star citizen.. i have seen a few plants on planets in ED. and it is how it is. most of the planets out ther have only craters and mountains.

Star Citizen also is only partially procedurally generated, Environment Artists work together with the generated assets, the Stellar Forge (The Engine that generates Star Systems) which is used in Elite is simply not able to handle such complicated tasks by itself on a big scale like we have in the game (1:1 scale of the our Galaxy) to add Insult to Injury the Cobra Engine (Main Game Engine) is old and shitty and could never Handle that much environmental detail like that. Just as an example that the game was horribly unstable when Odyssey first launched and still kind of is, this old ass Engine is also the reason why Elite doesn't get ship interiors, the Engine can't handle it. At the end of the day Star Citizen operates at a much smaller scale compared to Elite and the Stellar Forge is still capable of many great things, there's dozens of Procedurally generated System that one would say are a Miscalculation in the Stellar Forge but for E:D players these are the things you may stumble upon when exploring. I get your comment with it being repetitive and 90% of the time one System will be just as boring as the next but then the 10% that make it worth it, pessimistic numbers? Yes but hey who knows what else is out there... remember 0.05% (222,083,678 Systems) of the Galaxy have been explored in E:D, just to bring it into perspective that there are worlds between SC and E:D Alright a bit of a long one but maybe it gives a much clearer picture as to why things are like they are.

If you don't think landing on earth sized planets that have mountains and atmosphere is fun, you should just be playing COD lol

Yeah, I had zero interest in Odyssey. Elite trying to be something it's not. How about you flush out the gameplay dynamics you already have before introducing new ones. Also, I play elite to be a space flight Sim, not a life simulator in space. Honestly, I think ED made a huge strategic error, and time has proven that true... In elite, you essentially were your vehicle. The core was around flight. Star citizen came around and has decided it wants to do everything. Be a flight simulator, survival game, FPS, etc. Some people are down. For that, and in the right context I am too. But that isn't ED'S strengths. They rushed to try to add a whole new gameplay aspect to the game (fps). What they should have done is refined existing ones. 1) atmospheric planets. Give us actual environments with foliage / water etc to fly around in. 2) give use proper in game tools for trading etc so we don't have to rely on third party tools. 3) properly balance and incentivize open play. For example : a) negate some of the ship replacement costs in open so people don't mind dying as much. b) boost what you can make for missions / trading in open given the increase risk, make it worth it for people to be in open. Most ED players are not antisocial, it just didn't make sense for a lot of play styles to open themselves up to the risks of open given the cost benefit analysis, so replacement thar equation. 4) give players new stations and other "toys" to play with. 5) give its focus on flight, give users interesting flight challenges a) fly in huge caves or mega stations that you actually fly around in internal corridors. 6) ad new classes of ships, for example a stealth ship that functions like a scout or assasin: scout has virtually no weapons, but extensive recognizance capabilities, can mine data on npcs and players and sell the data. The closer you get to targets the more invasive data you gain. Allow you to paint targets for increased accuracy of weapons for other players, or otherwise me a support ship. Assasin: lacks much of the recon of the scout, and still weak in a dogfight, but in exchange it retains the ability to basically be stealthy while running full systems. Perhaps the stealth attack functions like a virus: you have to stay very close to your target for a prolonged time while you hack their ship. If successful, you can basically hack their system. The longer/more successful the hack, the more control. Drop their shields for x time vs 5x time. Jettison their cargo, kill their engine, cause a fire that destroys their life support system (putting fear of God into them), disrupt their targeting computer, or cause them to loose thruster efficiency etc. These are just some things off the top of my head , but the bottom line is that they focus on core ship/gameplay that augments what is already there. Instead they decided to introduce a crappy fps into a successful space flight game....and their stock price has borne the fruit of that stupidity.
