I lost my husband to cancer in January and this song just reached down into my grief like a hand. He passed away two days shy of what would have been our 30th wedding anniversary and some days I feel like I am doing exactly what you sing about. I still see him, feel him, everywhere. Our daughter has always been a big fan of yours, and she introduced me to your music. What you write and sing about touches people deeply. You are such an intuitive singer/songwriter and your songs are full of raw emotion, and evoke the same. My daughter and son-in-law even used your song Perfect for their wedding song, as it really does describe the love they have together (they have been a couple since they were 15, married 5 years yesterday, and now have a beautiful little girl, 2 years old). As much as this song made me cry, I know I need to let it out, and it's so beautiful, even as it is heartwrenching. It is the mark of true talent to be able to evoke so many different emotions in your fans. Thank you for sharing your gift with us all.❤

I just want to say thank you for this song. I'm suffering from compound grief. My sister died (quickly) from cancer in September, and it hit me hard. We were really close. Then my mom died in November, just before Thanksgiving, after having a hip replacement. I was with her when she passed. I had to take care of her final wishes and service. Then my father passed in his home in January, just before my birthday. I found him. I had to do everything from getting him cremated, planning his service, cleaning out his estate, etc. In that 5 month period of time, I also lost two friends (one was in his early 30's) and my aunt. I'm so depressed. I heard this song and immediately connected to it. It's absolutely perfect. So thank you for sharing this. It was even released at the perfect time. As a matter of fact, I even told my mental health counselor about the song. It's absolutely beautiful.

This song is another amazing one. I sat and thought about the video for a bit, and my interpretation. I think the fluffy character is a representation of Jamal and that everywhere Ed goes, Jamal is there, but not real. He thinks he sees him in everything he looks at. If you notice, at the very end, Ed says "I'm dancing with my" and then the character is gone. Like Jamal. A representation of the fact that Jamal is actually truly gone. A feeling of being alone and the emptiness that comes with it. I'm so sorry for Ed's loss. How devastating. I've not lost a best friend yet, but I've lost many family members. Grief is horrendous. His voice is so good that it actually sounds better live because a recording studio cannot do him justice.
