I know right it is crazy normally a sad song is slow but Ed's made it into an upbeat song yeah Ed is insanely talented

I think that might be part of the metaphor. You keep going, do what you do, get through each day, but you're basically going through the motions. You might dance, too! But your eyes are closed when you do it.

@@ksera3605it’s called having a beautiful song, then putting a generic beat to it so it will more likely be played on the radio. I was hoping this album would keep the acoustic theme, as originally planned 😔

@@natel.6328 what a harsh thing to say about something he’s literally said means so much to him. 😕 FYI…in an Instagram live he just did he said Eyes Closed is his most ‘pop’ song on the album and the rest are basically all acoustic.

Only Edward can take a depressing, sad situation and turn it into something beautiful that can actually lift your spirits up. This is definitely one you could dance to. Just unbelievable. I wonder if Boat will be the second single with him ending the video at a dock. Great video as always, Thomas!

Thomas! Love this song, it’s truly incredible. I can’t help but tie comparisons from this song and Bam Bam. The lyrics ‘Keep dancing, keep dancing” and “I’ll keep dancing with my eyes closed”. His friend (who eyes closed is about) passed the week of Bam Bams release. He also says “I pictured this month to be different” meaning he most likely wrote this after Bam Bams release. In Eyes Closed he says “I’ll keep dancing, with my eyes closed”. Almost like he had to go through promoting the song (bam bam) with the thought of his friend passing. In addition to this, the same Director filmed both videos, Bam Bam and Eyes Closed! Would love to hear ur thoughts on this!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened already since 11pm last night. I fell asleep playing it. Fantastic! 💛 I think we can all relate to this and our own blue monsters. Loss is something I don’t think you ever get over. Each day you just find the strength within to keep going forward. 💛
