Rather important to note about Frank's: Their traditional sauce -- the one in the video -- is a basic (amaaaaazing) hot sauce; however, they offer an off-the-shelf buffalo hot sauce to use on wings when the consumer doesn't want to make a proper wing sauce, which means heating it with butter in a pot prior to mixing it with wings. If you're going for a hot sauce, use Frank's. If you're going for a wing sauce, either heat the Frank's with some butter or use their buffalo wing sauce for the perfect accompaniment. (Not a paid advert; I simply adore Franks and purchase it by the litre.)

Exactly! As some who loves wings and actually grew up and currently lives in Buffalo, NY while I love that they choose Frank's and really liked it...I have to admit that I cringed just a bit, when I saw them toss the wings in plain Frank's. All I could think was "Noooooo! It just needs a bit of melted butter!" it may seem like it won't add a lot or might be unnecessary but it really does change it up and just is not the same without it! (I just cannot stand when restaurants sell "Buffalo wings" and all they do is just throw plain hot sauce on them) Not only does the butter help tone down the vinegar-iness it also helps the sauce coat and cling to the wings better and gives a bit creaminess and better consistency. Plus, it's great way to tritrate or adjust the level of spicyness to your taste. Here's a little guide, 1:1 mild, 1:2 Med, and 1:3 Spicy (Butter/Hot-sauce).
@GamerGirlieNatasha Жыл бұрын

I've been a follower of your channel for quite some time, now. I've always noticed how absolutely different the taste profiles and palates are whenever Jamie and Mike are paired within a video. While Jamie is an avid champion of smoky, spicy and meaty meals, Mike will always showcase refined flavours that tend towards vegetarian options and citrus notes. I am so curious as to what they would come up with if they had made some kind of "debate" cook-off to see if Mike would taste something he'd love made by Jamie whilst Jamie would eat a dish made by Mike and love it, as well. Because it seems to be really easy to please Barry with anything as long as you add sugar to it...

Here is one for you, making your own sauces from odd ingredients, they are only odd because you don't think they should go together. For example, the sauce packet from the Samyang Buldak Korean Hot Spicy rayum and a bit of mayo. The fat really helps tone down the spice level to a more tolerable level. And it you can make it from things you may already have in your fridge.

When we made hot wings at home we would melt a stick of unsalted butter in a sauce pan and then put in the Frank's Red Hot sauce to taste and cook down a little before we finished with celery salt. If everyone was ok with it we would toss the wings in the sauce. If not then we'd just have the bottle of Frank's on the table for everybody to add their own. The bottle would be on the table too for everyone who wanted it a little more spice. We fried our wings in an electric wok so we could regulate the temperature better for a better fry. Oh man. Sauce is best with own grown. I moved into more use of powder hot smoked paprika. For example from Eastern Europe. Also very special and easy to find in England -> El pimentón molido dulce, el picante y el ahumado. You can make a sauce from oil out of it, in minutes.
