[Mom & Dad had just retired at 60 years old]. Mom had brain surgery the morning after Christmas, was in a coma immediately thereafter, & died a few days later. That last evening as I was visiting her in the ICU, she sat up & waived goodbye to me as I was leaving because “visiting hours” were over. The doctors said she never woke up after the surgery, but I KNOW what I saw before I left that night. Ed’s touching song brought it all back & expresses exactly how I feel. I had to put away the Christmas tree that she had put up that year.🎄 I finished law school like she dreamed I always would. Thank you for this song. I just can’t write anymore right now.😭🥰

Thank you Ed Sheeran for your beautiful tribute to an incredibly sincere Aussie you truly called a friend. Michael Gudinski was a supporter of talented Aussies but also the best from around the world. Ed Sheeran you are beautiful and a vocal powerhouse. I do have to say "Bloody Ed Sheeran" from the movie "Yesterday". If you've seen the film you'll appreciate the line if not you have to watch "Yesterday". There's a surprise cameo from a British Goat (Greatest of all time). I won't mention who the actor is or who they play but it was so beautifully bittersweet. Love this tribute and the film. 💝🇦🇺
