About Ed Sheeran:
Ed Sheeran may be the quintessential pop star of the 2010s: an internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning singer/songwriter who seems to acknowledge no boundaries between styles or eras with elements of folk, hip-hop, pop, dance, soul, and rock woven throughout his music.
His incredible catalogue includes the studio albums ‘+’ (plus), ‘x’ (multiply) and ‘÷’ (divide) which spawned hit singles such as ‘The A team’ , ’Lego House’, ‘Sing', ‘Thinking Out Loud’, ‘Photograph’, ‘Shape Of You’, ‘Castle on The Hill’ and ‘Perfect’.
In 2019, Ed Sheeran released the genre-spanning ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ which featured a wide-range of artists including ‘Justin Bieber’, ‘Camilla’ Cabello’, ‘Travis Scott’, ‘Eminem’, ‘Cardi B, ‘Paulo Londra’, ‘Bruno Mars’ and ‘Stormzy’ amongst many others, producing hits such as ‘I Don’t Care’, ‘Beautiful People’, ‘South of The Border’ and ‘Take Me Back To London’.

It disgusts me how songs like "Anaconda" or "Shake it off" get more views/popularity then beautiful, meaningful songs like this. What has our genre of "good music" become? EDITED okay ive been getting a lot of comments about shake it off. i guess it isnt that much of a pointless song like anaconda but still it just gets annoying. lol but if u dont want me to use shake it off as an example, then how about songs like fancy or booty. those stupid songs

Holly King Yes, glad he tells a true story, one too many of us relate to. Sad it’s a helpless place to be in when there’s nothing more anyone can do, substances are quick or long brutal years watching a loved one die and not be able to get near them anymore. I’d say the worst is seeing them fade into a stranger, then forget their own family even children exist. Addiction over all is hard to accept...

implied in the original comment was that he was homeless to the extent the woman in this video was. He wasn't. He was without a bed on some nights after gig and occasionally slept on the tube. But most nights he had a roof over his head. He may have technically been without a home, and if he was in ordinary employment then yes he would be described as homeless, but this is relatively common for a lot of musicians. No point people trying to make out he lived on the streets for years like some tabloids tried to do.

White lips, pale face Breathing in snowflakes Burnt lungs, sour taste Light's gone, day's end Struggling to pay rent Long nights, strange men And they say She's in the Class A Team Stuck in her daydream Been this way since eighteen But lately her face seems Slowly sinking, wasting Crumbling like pastries And they scream The worst things in life come free to us 'Cause we're just under the upper hand And go mad for a couple grams And she don't want to go outside tonight And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland Or sells love to another man It's too cold outside For angels to fly Angels to fly Ripped gloves, raincoat Tried to swim and stay afloat Dry house, wet clothes Loose change, bank notes Weary-eyed, dry throat Call girl, no phone And they say She's in the Class A Team Stuck in her daydream Been this way since eighteen But lately her face seems Slowly sinking, wasting Crumbling like pastries And they scream The worst things in life come free to us 'Cause we're just under the upper hand And go mad for a couple grams And she don't want to go outside tonight And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland Or sells love to another man It's too cold outside For angels to fly An angel will die Covered in white Closed eye And hoping for a better life This time, we'll fade out tonight Straight down the line And they say She's in the Class A Team Stuck in her daydream Been this way since eighteen But lately her face seems Slowly sinking, wasting Crumbling like pastries They scream The worst things in life come free to us And we're all under the upper hand Go mad for a couple grams And we don't want to go outside tonight And in a pipe we fly to the Motherland Or sell love to another man It's too cold outside For angels to fly Angels to fly To fly, fly For angels to fly, to fly, to fly For angels to die

Did you get to a point where you don't even think about it? Or while listening to the song, there not even a tiny feeling about That Feeling? I never stop hoping that it's possible and not just for those who now have these lives where they are completely different people. I know That is possible, some addicts became healers or even doctors etc. I am not at risk of using dangerous drugs today, but still, when i remember only that 1 minute of ...there's not even a word for it... feeling good, like exhaling all my life traumas. And do crave it. Not in a way that an active user does - that feeling whould not allow me to spill my heart on youtube. Even youtube lost some value then. I just really wish that i'll know that feeling and in this lifetime. Thank you for sharing, it gave me the courage to write something like this for the first time. ❤

My advice would be to listen too positive happy music.dont get stuck in a rutt listening to sad songs it'll only make shit worse.find out what triggers it and try to avoid those triggers.also smile 😃 and get out in the sun when you can and go to the park or beach whatevers near you. Alcohol is a no no and talk to the people around you about the issues...the more people understand you the better they can help..ive been there and it can get very dark and tuff at times but it gets better if you make it happen k. Positive quotes around ya room helps and brighter colors.dont ever be scared to talk to the people around you it can be hard but its worth it if you have the right friends. Life is beautiful so dont waste it hiding away have a nice day and i hope you get thru this.

@@kirkogier1145Sad songs actually help my depression a lot of the time. When you have depression (at least for me) happy songs almost make it worse and make me angry or annoyed. Sad songs actually make me feel kind of better or at least help me get through the hard times. Maybe thats not for everyone but everyone I know with depression (especially deep/severe depression but all levels as well) sad and/or slow and/or sensitive and/or sentimental and/or melancholy music helps with their depression far more than “happy” music. Happy music almost feels disgusting and repulsive when you have actual depression. When you have actual depression you cant just play a “happy song” and feel better or have it help you or prefer to listen to that. Its not how you feel, it wont change how you feel, its not the mood you’re in, etc etc etc. Thats why sad music actually helps, thats why most prefer sad music, thats why most people will watch or listen to melancholy things. If I’m actually depressed and I hear the song “Happy” by Pharrell playing, that makes me want to pew pew myself more than anything and hearing a song like that enrages me more than anything. Not to mention it just reminds me how happy others are and what a great happy life other people are living and how I’m not. How it feels impossible to be happy like these people who like this “happy” song. How far away I am from liking a song like this or how far away I am from feeling happy like this. How its not even pleasing to listen to or think about. I would compare it to the hell of social media where people just post all the great things in their lives and how “amazing and happy” they (pretend) claim their lives to be. Which only causes depression in others (which has clearly been proven). Not to mention I also feel fake listening to a song like “Happy” by Pharrell especially when I’m depressed. So long story short, I think you’re completely wrong (at least for most people) and you dont really understand most people with depression. Giving me the idea you haven’t really dealt with depression (which is a good thing and I’m jealous and hope you never have to deal with it and I wish you the best) and that maybe you’ve studied psychology or something and trying to give advice off of something you were taught or read in book as opposed to experience and actually having the problem yourself. Either way, you’re only trying to help and you’re intentions are good so thank you for your opinion/advice no matter what or even if I disagree

If I’m actually depressed and I hear the song “Happy” by Pharrell playing, that makes me want to end it more than anything and hearing a song like that enrages me more than anything.

Whenever I hear this song it reminds me how I made the best possible step for my own future. It used to make me cry my eyes out and now I feel proud of myself..

I miss the old MVs where everything is just raw and pure and heartfelt scenarios. I kinda find this song sooo sad, depressing, and somewhat healing, and it makes me wonder, how many angels out there before who once was a super it-girl or it-boy on their glorious days now fell into The A-Team. And how many, who've gone lost, now back on the track to keep fighting, to keep living the life they have only a one shot to enjoy. This is the first time I watched The A-Team vid after listening to it for so many years, and my conclusion is right, I found people who got lost just like me (not in a material addiction way, but in memories of the past that keeps hauting me) they're sad but beautiful. Sadness and happiness, i thnk, are all beautiful.

I met an escort several years ago and we became somewhat close friends in addition to our other "relationship." She was 30 and I was 46; she was so intelligent and had a wicked sense of humor in addition to being just gorgeous. Over the next 2-3 years, I would see her 5-6 times a year but we also kept in touch via text. Little did I know she had a drug habit (heroin) until she dropped off the radar for a few months (got arrested) and then texted me out of the blue several months later. We caught up via text over a couple of days and she finally came clean with me that she had a nine year heroin habit. I was devastated - cried hard that night for how messed up her life was. She lived in a different state/city and needed a place to crash for awhile, so I invited her to come live with me. I had never heard of Ed Sheeran prior to meeting her but on one of our road trips, she played this song - I didn't catch all the lyrics but later that night while she was in the shower, I looked up the lyrics and watched this video. I cried hard. Again. Sobbed. Swore I would do whatever I could to help her get her life back on track. She no longer lives with me but she's recently made great strides in kicking her habit and I'm still helping support her at the moment. I will forever remember her when I hear this song and it's hard to listen to it without tears flowing. I never told her this but I love that girl. UPDATE: June 24 2020. Well this has run on longer than I ever expected. Many have asked for updates over the past three and a half years and I’ve done so in the comments below, but it appears many who have left comments aren’t reading the entire thread to see the updates. So I’m editing and updating the original comment now. I posted the original comment over three years ago, really didn’t think it would see this much traction and reaction. At the time, I lived about 11 hours away from her, four states away. For those still commenting that I should tell her I love her, I have and did. Not too long after the original post. We stayed in touch and she even came to visit me for extended trips on 2 or 3 other occasions. I also continued to see her where she lives whenever I could. It has been up and down. Lots of good times, lots of tears. She’s made many attempts to get clean and sober but unfortunately has not been able to stay that way. I recently relocated much closer to her and am now only about two hours away. We’ve fought and loved, forgiven each other for various problems. It still isn’t what I want it to be and in fact, right now, I have decided to step away for a break. We have a number of things to resolve and her addiction is at the center of most of it. But I still love her and have come to believe that she loves me as well. Yes, she needs some professional help to resolve her addiction. There are other complicating and legal factors that make that difficult right now. But she knows that I want to see her clean and sober in the end, regardless of where our relationship goes. I just want to say several things to people who are commenting. 1) The overwhelming majority of you have been so positive and supportive and I can’t tell you how much that has meant to me. Several times when I have been close to giving up, some of the encouraging comments on here have convinced me to keep going and keep trying. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You have all made me realize that there are really good, decent people in the world. 2) To those who just want to fling insults at me or at her, fuck off. Grow up. 3) To those who question whether I’m doing the right things by helping her out (aka enabling), yes I understand your point. Some have suggested she just needs tough love and to walk away, force her to face her issues and resolve them. That approach works for some, but not all. Her entire family, parents and siblings have turned their backs on her, ie, tough love. It didn’t work. There has to be a better approach, or a more muted approach than that while understanding that the ultimate goal is her overcoming her addiction. Finally, I am not a saint. I appreciate the nice comments and all, but I’ve made my share of mistakes and missteps in this situation. I’m not trying to boost myself or pat myself on the back. I’m just a man who loves a woman and who wants to see her succeed and overcome her obstacles. Much love to all. UPDATE: September 12 2020: My friend was arrested earlier this week; she was a passenger in a car involved in a minor traffic accident but thankfully wasn’t hurt. However, when the police arrived, they ran her name and it came back she was wanted on an old warrant for failure to appear (which I knew about). The good news is, she had been clean for about three weeks and I believe, on a good path to really getting sober. The bad news is she’s now in custody and I don’t know what the outcome will be at this moment. I hired her an attorney and he’s trying to get her bonded out and also thinks that she will be able to get into a diversionary/rehab program with the state to avoid serious jail or prison time. So I guess the good news there is she’s been forced to face her legal issues and should be able to stay off heroin while she’s locked up. Also good news is she’s safe. I really feel like this is the rock bottom, wake up call that will perhaps lead her to sobriety. Thank you again for all the love and support. I’ll post more as the developments warrant. Much love. UPDATE NOV 15 2020: So she was in jail from Sept 8 to Oct 8. I got her an attorney who was able to get a bond hearing and I was able to bond her out. The next day I helped her pack her stuff and she’s been living with me ever since. She’s had one court appearance but has another scheduled for late November. She’s facing 2 plus years incarceration but we’re hoping for probation and rehab/therapy. Good thoughts and vibes are appreciated, will update again in a couple of weeks. ❤️ UPDATE December 10, 2020: She was sentenced to 6 months in county jail and 3 years probation but got credit for 3 months time served already. Not what we had hoped for but far less than what it could have been. We talk on the phone daily and she sounds truly committed to sobriety when she gets out. She will come to live with me and we will start our journey together 🤞. I’m happier than I have been in a long time and truly excited for the future, although I know there is a lot of hard work ahead. But I love her still, even more than before. Thank you to all who have been so supportive, it has meant more than I can tell you! Hug your loved ones, be kind and during this holiday season, look to be a friend to someone in need. Much love to all. ❤️ UPDATE: JAN 12 2021: She’s home! She was released after 45 days served. I’m ecstatic. She seems really locked in to staying sober and clean. Lots of work ahead to make that possible but I’m just over the moon excited for her - and our - future! Thank you again for all the love and support! You guys are just wonderful!! Much love ❤️. Update August 13 2021: After a really hard few months after she got out of jail, she finally agreed to go to a doctor and start a Suboxone treatment, something I had wanted her to do for years but would never agree to do. Suboxone helps deal with the physical symptoms of withdrawal and helps keep her physically centered. She’s been on it for about 2 months now and the change has been amazing. She’s been doing much better and starting to get engaged in daily living like never before. All was going really well. And then….. this song below is the only way to explain what has happened. I’m crushed. Heartbroken. Thank you to all of you who have been supportive and shown the love you have for her and for me. Unfortunately this appears to be the end of our story. The song is Amos Lee, “Chill in the Air”. FINAL UPDATE (March 31 2024): For those wondering, we broke up in August 2021. I’m not going into the details but in spite of the challenges, she remained living with me simply because she had nowhere else to go; and I refused to put her out on the street. She slowly made progress in staying sober via suboxone but did have several relapses over the next two years. Unfortunately the last relapse cost her her life and she passed away last August (2023). It’s been hard adjusting to her not being here but at least her struggles are over and she is at rest. Thank you for all the kind words and support the last seven years. If you are an addict, please get help. And if you love an addict, please don’t give up but know that you cannot make someone recover or even want to recover. Love to all.

sub 'n' smile! Haha nice story, I'm just not that gullable. Sorry. And, and just so you know. Random subs don't get you anywhere. I have 14k subs, but they're random subs who subscribed because I have 1 popular lyrics video of 16 mln views (for which I don't get money). The videos I upload get like 500 views. If the 14k subs were for the content I now upload, it would be considerably more, but seeming as they're random subs, I don't get shit. That's what awaits you too for trying to get subs this way. Best thing to do is just start making videos and hope you go somewhere. YT is not an easy business. The one thing I wanna give you as advice: don't make up some lame ass story and lie to your subs. I know, I know. This is YT, so you're probably gonna stick with your story, but just try to consider what I'm saying here. We both know you're not being truthful. I'll throw you a bone and subscribe, but it isn't gonna matter for shit. You'll see.

When this song came out I was in the middle of a ten year heroin addiction. I remember sitting in jail & watching this music videos & all the addicts would sit around & sing it together. It made us feel like we mattered & that we weren’t just human beings to be thrown away. It was a long hard road & even now I still struggle but I’ve been clean for over 3 years & counting…. Whenever I hear this song it reminds me to be grateful for the life I have now & helps me realize how lucky I am to have made it through to the other side. Anyone struggling with addiction, you are NOT alone & even tho it may seem hopeless. I promise it’s possible to be happy & sober. Even if it takes a million tries. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF. Your life is worth something. You are worth something(:

This song is based on a true story about a girl called Angel. In an interview, Ed Sheeran explained that ‘The A Team’ song was based on the experiences of a particular woman at the shelter called Angel, he sings ‘Angels to fly’ line in the song, he said: “’The A Team’ came from an experience I had when I did a gig at a homeless shelter. I was 18 at the time and kind of quite naïve. So, I was a bit taken aback by some of the stories that I heard. I got home that night and I just wrote a lot of the lyrics. I wanted to write it so it sounded kind of upbeat, so you wouldn’t really know what it’s about, because it’s quite a dark subject.” Sheeran stated that the song’s title, he said: “A drug like crack cocaine is called a ‘Class A drug’. That’s in the same category as heroin. Instead of making it clear and just saying what the problem was, I’d say, ‘She’s in the ‘Class A’ team.’ It was kind of my way of covering up “a person’s addiction”, I guess, making it a bit more subtle. But Sheeran also told Q magazine that the story of the song was inspired by a homeless person he met at a Christmas gig, he said: “I played at a Christmas gig for the homeless charity Crisis. I met this homeless there and her story inspired me to write a song. I wrote a tune about a similar situation, not entirely based on her, because I didn’t want to pinch someone else’s story. After it got into the charts I got lots of messages from parents saying that something similar had happened to their daughters. When I wrote it I never thought that it would connect with so many people, but it’s great it has.”

Its amazing how Ed uses We in the last verse to show how close we are all to being desperate or on the line of poverty or in need of stimulations, ive never used but i can see how if people get to such lows how it makes them feel alive or wanted. Its such a good way to show compassion. ❤

@Emberchariot
@Emberchariot 7 ай бұрын
@@lifeisbannanas That's not why people do that job. People take their clothes off as a job to feel wanted by others and are important. There's more psychology behind it, then it's just a job, also not everyone feels they deserve a normal job. It's not that black and white of a situation for them. They've led abusive lives or lonely lives that you and Me can never comprehend. This is why people do CBT to get well in the head before they go for normal jobs. Also if people want to take their clothes off for a living that's ok to. I think the general public need to stop penalising these jobs. Fair enough when drugs are involved get them to stop, but again, a whole load of psychological damage behind them.

I've never been homeless, but I have been out of a home for two weeks as a project. The life truly is hard for these people. I adapted by leaving city, but most homeless can't survive in the woods. Give them a helping hand, any food will do, a smile for once or perhaps do the project I did. Today, one of those I met whilst "being homeless" is my best friend, he has a home, with me, and I make sure he eats properly everyday. He is employed and has started a bankaccount named "Moving Out". I'm a proud adopter, and adapter, be one you too! We're all humans.
